019.jpg020.jpgFirst off thanks for taking the time to read my post.

I have 24 plants, 12 Jack Herrer,12 ak-47 all clones, same phenotype.

Both strains are a indica/sativa hybrid, very sativa dominant

Growing in hydro, ebb and grow, 5x10 grow tent, 2 (1000) hps, and co2

Given the dimensions, sativa type, all of the pieces, how tall should i let them get before flowering. The tallest is 12 inches now. THey have started to explode, I know they will b huge in no time, i dont want a big mess of 7 ft plants, but dont want to mess up yeild by inducing flowering a few days too early.

Id rather not top, im running low and dont want to wait the extra time. Or should I? Any advice would b awesome.

ps ignore the soil plants, humidifier, and co2 tank, all will b gone once flowering.

a great alternitive to topping is GENTLY beding the plats over as they reach the height you want. this doesn't stress the plant too much and it give you mutiple colas and you dont loose any bud sights. how tall should you let them get also depends on the total hieght you want them to finish at. after a few cycles through you'll figure out what hieght works best. but until then i suggest just bending them over and tying the to itself or the bucket again GENTLY. food for thought. if you have a mother you can experiment with taking short clones 3, 4, 5, 6 inches tall and flowering them as soon as they have rooted. i've seen this done and when you dial in the optimal hieght for the cuttings it just works out beautiful. i hope that made sense. i've tried to condense alot of info down for ya.

thanks for the advice and compliment.

I have had success bending. The only thing i didnt like is how long it took to trim everything, i like the idea of one huge cola or 4 nice size ones.

To the second post, im just lookoing to maxamize yeild, and yet want to start flowering soon. I probably will just start training them a bit with a trellis, as much as i want to top, im sure it will add some time to veg, which id rather not wait for. Thanks again both you!
