In need of desperate help, ec gone through the roof

I’ve just been in to check on my plants i put my bluelab truncheon in one of my dwc buckets to check the ec and its flashing really fast on 3.6!! I changed the water on Tuesday just gone and set it to 1.6! Could the truncheon be true or is it because its really close to the roots its affecting the reading? If it could be true and it has shot up that high how do I rectify this. Thank you

Here are some pictures of the worst affected plant. Other than this plant they all look relatively ok other than slightly yellowish tips. I have refilled the res to 1.0 ec and will monitor daily to see what the changes are. Opinions on whether I’ve done the right thing would be appreciated. Im just mid 4 weeks into flower and hoping it won’t affect my yields too much if at all

Yes you did good by changing res!
Might get some burnt tips , but hopefully you caught it in time where it won't effect plants too much. Looks like a bit of heat stress too, which could be from high ec they were in.

Cheers for the reply mate! Much appreciated, what would cause my ex to shoot up so high over 4 days? 2 ec in 4 days just doesn’t seem right. The only thing i can think of is due to being multiple dwc buckets connected every time i drain there is a bit of water left at the bottom which is maybe interfering with the new feed? Other than that i have no clue as I slowly built it up to 1.6 in the first two weeks of flower where it was then sitting nicely at 1.6 over a week

About a week or two ago when the outside temps were really high i was seeing upto 34 in the day for a few days until i fitted an inlet fan which has now solved the problem. Also i will admit i was changing the water late at night and tired and being stupid i left the tap open so the water drained straight out and I didn’t notice till the next day so they were without water for a day. I suppose that would knock their feeding out of whack?

Eh probably not could have been something threw the ph off and caused salts to buildup. Just keep an eye on ph an ec thischange

They will probably eat a lot in a week depending on how big the plants are. I would go back to 1.5ish next refill if all is good

Ok thanks for the help everyone! One last thing, could what happened be a result of the water left at the bottom of each bucket every time causes things like this? Should i run ph water through the buckets first to try clear as much out before the refil?
