Improving On An Existing Product

So I have a group or friends that get together for the reason to make improvements or redesign existing products to make life easier, more sanitary and efficient. I am reaching out to those that have the same mind set, or would be interested in participating.

you know that if you improve a product enough you can patent it as your own...

yup... believe it or not if some sort of engineering/design element improves the functionality of a product enough, a brand new patent can be awarded in your name...... i saw this thing on tv where a kid had 'invented' a kind of pocket knife that was really an entire wrench set... but somebody had invented it already... all they did was add a 'band' around the thing that would 'lock' the wrench in place while open, and that simple addition was enough for a new patent...

it was on that show on tv with anthony sullivan and billy mays....

I understand the patent process, however i believe in open source. I am thinking currently upon the replacement of toilet paper all together.
I have the concept of adding neoprene to deodorant sticks so as to not scratch or cause irritation to ones skin.

are you in america?? if not, then open source it all the way...

in this only the strong, destroy the competition, free-market hell hole called the US, take full advantage of the patent process if not somebody else will....

Isn't that the problem thought? That mindset. If I don't do it, someone else will? I say bravo if you want to go for open source. World needs more people like you Michael Sparks :peace:
