Important Soil/Nute Question

I am going to use pro mix organic and plan on adding perlite, worm castings, and azomite. Are there any other crucial additives I will need, and what ratio should I mix everything?

Then I would like to know what nutes would be good to use with this specific soil mix. So far I plan on adding molasses to my water throughout the grow cycle, but I'm not sure whether to go with fox farm nutes or somthing like that, or maybe use bat guano, or can I use both? I've heard good things about seabird guano too. This is my first indoor grow and I want to make sure I have all my bases covered with the proper NPK ratios.

I should also note the I will be planting peat pots directly into 3 gallon pots to avoid transplant shock (and cause I suck at it) so I'll be using the soil throughout the whole grow. Any help very much appreciated.

why not just get oceans forest soil by fox farm. has everything you allready listed in it. the I would pick up sum fox farm nutes the whole line up

grand daddy purple. a week premature. and thank you for the complament

you seem to know what your doing, im starting my 1st serious grow and dont know if i will have the funds for a 30x microscope to look at crystal to check the "cloudyness" of them. is there any other accurate way to tell. i heard when 50%-75% of red hairs turned amber its a good time to harvest? is this method any good? if you can help itd be much appreciated. if i can get the microscope i wont have a problem but im very low on cash and need way more money to invest.

you can get one at radio shack for 10 bucks. I would not go by the hair changing. my plants look ripe as fuk and the trichs are not even 50 percent cloudy. but to answer your question if you have to go by the hairs wait untill they turn red not orange

I hear fox farm isn't what it used to be from a lot of people. Pro-mix has perlite too but I hear you should add more no matter what soil you use.

I was thinking about going fox farm nutes but it's expensive for the whole line up solids and liquids. Are they really worth all that money?

im pulling close to 3 ounce plants sense I switched to it. and its really not that expensive cause the solids last a long time. I love it. I might try the whole line up of advanced now thats expensive

I suppose ill try them but the feed guide on the website looks like its written in an alien language

2 tea spoons of tiger bloom through out. 1 and a half table spoons of big bloom throughout. 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of open sesame a week before flowering and week 1 2 and 3 after. 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of beastie bloom week 4 and 5. 3 1/2 teaspoons per gallon of cha ching week 7 and 8.

Mr scissors, I have a question for you... nice set-up and nugs btw, I'm currently on my second grow, and I have only done hydro(dwc)... I have 2 recently sprouted seedlings of some blue cheese, i have purchased some fox farm happy frog poting soil, along with some earth juice organics for nutes... I wanted to test out the whole soil taste better theory, lol... So I want to go completely organic with these two sprouts... My concern is the planting process, right now there just 3 days old and sitting in a propogation trey.. can I transplant them in there final home, a 3-5 gallon pot, or should I first plant them in something smaller, like dixie cups I see some people use? Whats the best order? Thanx bro... Sorry for the Hijack angry...

Angry Liberal - Your question very fundamental to the topic of gardening. You really need to read a couple of books. Purchase them with cash at a bookstore on the other side of town or download the pirated versions - let your conscience be your guide. The Jorge Cervantes and Ed Rosenthal books should be read cover to cover and referred back to frequently.

Mr Sticky - nice clean grow room! Wish I could help you harvest ;)
