I'M SICK OF IT!! Change name of Cannabis Cup to Barney's vs. Greenhouse Cup

Barney's Farm and The Greenhouse Seed Company have been taking turns placing First at the Cannabis Cup for the past EIGHT YEARS!! Having just returned to the States a week ago after the Cup I can positively say that these companies have quality genetics, however, they are far from superior to other strains at the cup. The Cup as a whole is going downhill, it has now become a place for Coffeeshops to advertise themselves rather than a judging of the quality, potency, and characteristics of a strain. GOODBYE Barney's vs. Greenhouse Cup, I will NEVER return for another experience. There are plenty of REAL Cannabis Cups such as the Highlife, IC 420, and the Tokers Bowl. These contests actually devise winners by the qualities and characteristics of the strain, rather than how well a shop can set up a booth and "sell" it's strain. Sorry for the rant fellow growers, this years Hightimes Cup dissapointed so much I will never return, ever.

You are surprised by this? It's sponsored by High Times, which in my opinion is one of the least reputable cannabis magazines and not even 1/10th of the authority on cannabis that it claims to be. Hell, just look at the magazine, filled with recycled tidbits of information that the average grower should know, intermingled with drool inducing bud porn and topped off with a healthy helping of ads. That's right, the real reason High Times is even in business is to sell advertising space. So knowing that, you're surprised that the Cannabis Cup has been reduced to the lowest common denominator; in this case the advertising dollar?
