Hello all, I've made a few posts before.. This will be my 1st attempt at a journal.. I will discuss mistakes I've made and learned from as well as future ideas.. Constructive criticism is always appreciated..
First I started off with the wrong soil, I wrongfully selected (thanks to the store clerk) coco meant for hydro. After discovering this error after about a month I switched to Fox Farm Happy Frog. And within a day it was a huge difference.. I was ready to give up . since then I have start mixing some ocean forest with the older plant, it seems like water drain slower out of the ocean forest maybe just my imagination. Another mistake I was doing was fertilizing my plants the same time I was transplanting into ocean forest. from what I've read a lot of people are going to trip about that but my plant haven't taken a huge hit from this as far as nutrients burn. I started off with some bagseed, then was lucky enough to get a few seeds in my purple crack from the dispensary. All 3 of those are coming along.. I started by using grow bags, three of my plants are starting to up root so maybe that's my fault maybe I need to just pack more soil in. I recently got a shipment from herbies in, I'm hoping that my experience with the bag seed will help me in the order I got 2 autoflowering a big bang and white widow, I put them in the fabric smart bags 3 gallon and they seem to be coming along good. I am about to set up my flowering plants with 600w HPS, I was kinda nervous about the heat but I am hearing that if I reach temps of 90 it's not necessarily a game ender. I will just be more conscious about watering and I will try to make sure I get the ducting. It out of my one available window lol. Right now I have about an average of 81 degrees inside the two tents with the lights on. I'm in Michigan. I was going to try to run the 600 HPS at night hoping that the temps are cooler and having the t5 come off during that period.
sorry for the long winded post that is kind of a introduction of Who I am / my experiences and what I have going on. I am using the go box from general organics for nutrients
