Im a newb. and i have a small growing space so how do i keep them to a max of 2- 2 1/2 ft because im using CFL's only above atm until i get some side mounts.

Any answers would be awesome!

look into some lst m8.. lst is short for low stress training, and it's pretty much bondage for your girls.. you take what ever you may have lying around at the time, and tie the plants down as they grow vertically to restrict how tall that they can get... it works great imo, and is an excellent tool for people with not much head room in their grows..

i'm going to go over to youtube and see if i can't find you a video or two and post them up for you... brb... :)

OK seriously, the best ways to keep a plant as short as possible are:
1) Choose the appropriate genetics. Indica dominants have shorter internode spacings.
2) Choose lighting with a high actinic component. Veg-spectrum LEDs have been reported to work. I favor T5s, which can be mixed&matched to provide your spectral needs. Since you're choosing CFLs, I'd supplement with aquarists' actinic-spectrum T5s, like the UV Lighting "Super Actinic" bulbs ... cn

here's one, i didn't watch it, but it seems to be pretty long, so i would think it would be pretty detailed... i'm sure it would relink you to other videos after as well that should help as well..

don't be afraid to ask questions m8 ... as i'm sure i asked plenty of newb questions when i first got here as well... and i always like to say that theirs no such thing as a dumb question, only those that are not asked...
good luck with the grow.. :)
