Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Just wanted to check in here. I’ve had my card for about a month after a 74 day wait. Been to the dispensary twice. I have no previous expeierence with marijuana but I have to say it is helping me out immensely with my MS symptoms. Pain relief is better than coritsone injections and sleep is vastly improved. I have nothing but good things to say about mmj. Hope everyone here receives their card sooner than later

That's amazing! I'm so happy for you! I hope that MMJ gets decriminalized on the federal level soon so more states will be willing to offer MMJ. I have friends with MS but don't live in a legal state and I wish so bad that they had access to this medicine.

Interesting, Medcardclock.com seems to think I'll get my card on Wednesday, June 6th. I hope they're right! That will be 79 days. I'm curious how accurate they are at predicting.
Hay purpleflower22 I haven't went to the store yet waiting for cash to come in just wanted to let you know I'm pulling for you hopefully that perdicktion comes true for you that you will get it early June fingers crossed

I went to Medcardclock and it just says 56 days is the current wait time yet im passed that by 3 days. How did you get a date or how many days does it tell you?
I used Medicard too I also only called 3 times and 3rd call was when someone actually told me it was at printers it was a week earlier than what Medicard stated hopefully you all will have the same.

Question on Medcard clock when I try to check mine it tells me i must enter a valid email address. My email is valid. Confused.

Hello All! I just wanted to share my story... I'm very frustrated with the State of IL right now, but I can't say I'm surprised in the least. I submitted my application on 1/22/2018, I received a call from IDPH around 2/25/2018 saying that they lost my check, and I would have to mail in a new one. I sent in a new check the same day and I received a call 2 days later from the IDPH saying that they have received my check and my application will be processed accordingly. My check was finally withdrawn from my account on 5/4/2018. It's now 5/16/2018 and I have still not received my card. Looking over this feed, I noticed that most people got their cards 10-14 business days after the check has been cashed, unfortunately today has been the 14th business day, and no card. Last week (on 5/10/2018 ), I emailed the IDPH office to ask about my card status, since (as of now) I have been waiting 114 days for my card (I've posted their response below). This has been more than twice the amount of time that it usually takes to get a card, which according to MedCard is 56 days. Did they change their policy of 10-14 business days? I'm so aggravated about how long this is taking me, and I really hope I get my card soon.

This is the response I received from IDPH:
"We process the application in the order in which we receive them. A good indication of when you application starts the “processing steps” is when you check/money order is cashed and cleared through the bank. That is considered the first step in processing, at that point- add approximately 30-45 business days for processing. You won’t receive a status check from our office. You will only hear from our office if there is something incorrect/missing from your application. In which case, you will receive a letter (Notice of Incomplete Application). I hope this is helpful; we do appreciate your patience.

Hi all! I’ve been watching this site for oooh about a month now, a little obsessively I must admit. I submitted my application electronically and got confirmation they received it on april 6, so I’m 41 days in.

What number is everyone calling to check on status? I’ve been trying 855.636.3688.

Thanks for all the good info everyone, and I’ll make sure to post my progress.

Has anyone verified the accuracy of the medcardclock site? I just went thru it and it’s saying I should get my card Monday May 21st. That would be Day 80 for me. And a very very happy day it would be!!

Try 217-782-3300. Also, if they received your application on March 6th, you are 72 days in and should receive your card any time now!

That sounds about right. They are speeding up right now and the process is taking about 70-80 days. Keep checking your mailbox, you should receive it soon.

I am SO SORRY that you are going through this! 10-14 business days is typical to receive your card but I've seen some people end up waiting a full month after their check was cashed. Hang in there, you're in the home stretch.

So if you guys remember, I called the state last week and got no helpful answers. However, I forgot to confirm what day they received my application (Sent March 20th) and so I sent them an email asking that yesterday. No response yet besides the automated message. I really hope they get back to me. I know they at least received it by March 27th because they charged my credit card but it would still be nice to know for sure.

Hey yman173, I had never heard of medcardclock until I saw you post about it. How did you get a specific date for when you would get your card? All it gave me was a current wait time for Illinois is 56 days from when you submit your documentation. It also stated these are calendar days. But it did not get anymore specific than that. All the site asked for was email address and location and then there was an estimate button to click on. I am wondering if I went to the right site. Let me know. Thanks!
