I’m an April 23rder as well. I emailed them this morning since I will be moving within a month to a new address and asked for an update on timeline for approvals.

I got a 2 responses within a minute no joke. The first email said thank you for the email (generic) the second said my card had been approved and I’d receive it within 14 business days.

Congrats to you and the others for the recent good news :). I've still got quite the wait as my app was just submitted on July 5th. I went through Medical Cannabis Outreach and decided to just go with the one year and renew down the line. Does anyone know how long the processing time from MCO to the state is? I was thinking maybe 3 days.

I am also a little bit worried about being denied due to my background. I have 2 felonies from back in 2008/2009 along with some misdemeanor charges..the felonies are not in any way drug related. I was told that I should be OK, what do you think?

Congrats on completing the first step to cannabis freedom. It's a long road but it will be worth it in the end. The average wait time seems to be 90 days - which is super sad and frustrating but...what can we do? For me, the last month has been the hardest. And the final weeks are like YEARS. I don't know about MCO because I went through Innovative Express Care but I would assume they are all similar. I submitted my paperwork on the April 19th, received a receipt from the state the 23rd, and my debit card was charged on the 25th. I started counting from the day the state took the money. It's been silence until I emailed them yesterday. As for felony charges, I'm not sure how that works. But if they told you should be okay then I'd take them on the word. I was worried about my address (and I still am) but according to yesterday's email, my card has been sent to the printer. Who knows how this works.

I was worried about my address as well (my id address is different than where I live) so I typed it out in the email I sent them along with my birthdate and phone number just in case. I’m hoping it doesn’t affect me.

I was just being nosey when I asked the finger print people wtf the fingerprints and background check ate all about.. getting a clearance in the military is easier than this! But they said as long as someone doesn't have drug related charges they should be good to go fwiw.. with Illinois who knows.. the pilot program is set to expire in 2020 unless there is further action taken so why would they even be accepting 3 year applications and fees?! Sorry rambling today but damn this wait is torture!

Are both addresses in Illinois? I think I remember being told that usually an issue arises when it's an out-of-state address.

Hello congrats to all who got their cards I'm new to the cannabis world am reading and looking for strains that can help me with pain and concentration I used innovative Express in chicago went there on 5/24 and received state receipt credit card charged 5/28 I guess another full month wait at least waiting is hard

Honestly, this has to be one of the worst run MM programs out there. I mean, waiting 90 days to get a card is INSANE. The pilot program says it will take no longer than 30 days to receive a card so they are already breaking the rules that they wrote. I'm a hopeful being, and I hope, now that more people are able to participate, the money and overall support will encourage a more sane approach. Better yet, maybe they'll legalize it altogether. As for the 2020 expiration date, anything is possible, but I am HOPEFUL that the marijuana momentum will carry us through. Has any state ever backed out? Chicago voted 70 percent in favor of legalizing weed. Canada just legalized it. The numbers will only rise. This is a revolution and I don't see it dying out soon.

Yes, both are Illinois even in the same town, I just never got around to switching it. They didn’t say anything so I’m assuming I’ll be good.

Hello all thought I check in see how things are going! You can read my story from pages 1-5 as when I started to follow this forum it was pretty brand new!

My wait time for my card was 86 days start to finish! And I even had to resubmit a photo and re submit drs certification! The wait time is grueling to say the least!

Now I have a friend going through the same process.

Her application was submitted on April 19th 2018 and is still waiting. I believe this coming Wednesday will be day 90 for her. I’ll update when she receives her card!

Good luck to all! Enjoy it everyday like I do knowing you you can finally live free!

Stay motivated! That card will come!

100% agree! I talk to a lot of people from all ages and walks of life and everyone seems to think by 2020 we will have recreational in Illinois and possibly nation wide.. I'm not sure if I'm that hopeful but the ranks of card holders has boomed in 2018 so I also hope that money talks and they see the light!

I hope that recreational in Illinois will really be happening 2020 but we are talking about IL here where even the medical program is highly restricted and still considered temporary
I hope to be wrong but I think it will take longer that 2 years to get this state to the recreational point

So I’ve had my bars for a while now. A word of advice. I have noticed that the dispensary change process is actually pretty quick. I have changed my dispensary at 4:20 in the afternoon on Friday and within an hour my dispensary was changed and I could go into the new one. So just some food for thought when you decide about your dispensary. I’m currently with Mapleglen in Rockford. Going to change it to another in Chicago somewhere I think today.

Sorry. Meant to share that, but got distracted.

Timeline:
4/22 - Doctor visit
4/23 - Credit card charged
Complete silence for 2.5 months
7/9 - I called IDPH and they said it was just approved
7/10 - Supposedly being printed and mailed out today

Will update when I receive the card.
UPDATE: Received my card in the mail today (7/16). Will be hitting the dispensary this afternoon!
