If you were a pothead in the '70s...

Anyone remember the idiotic urban myth about burying low-quality dope in the ground for a month so that some kind of fungus could magically convert lousy weed into something with higher THC? I actually knew a dude who did this and he was definitely not the dumbest toker in my social circle. I never got to sample the stuff he buried, though.

Also recall "chamber pipes," where you would put unsmoked cannabis inside a chamber in the stem of a pipe, then smoke your regular weed so that the smoke would flow through the chamber and leave a residue on the stuff in there. That was supposed to add potency.

Also, putting wine instead of water inside a water pipe or bong was supposed to have some kind of de luxe benefit but I was too broke most of the time and if I had wine I would want to drink it instead of doing a Stoner Science Fair experiment with it.

We did the underground pot curing too back in the day. Makes me wonder why peeps freak out about a little mold on their buds when curing. Ours would look like fuzz balls and nobody ever got sick or died.

Tried that pot in the pipe stem thing once that a friend did. Gross! But then I smoked pipe scrapings a few times when hard up for a buzz too.

Southern Comfort for the ultimate bong water man! Drink that shit after a week of party toking and if it didn't make you barf you got a great buzz. :D

THC is not supposed to be soluble in water, but I had stoner friends who would save their stems from the cheap Mexican brickweed and make tea out of it every few weeks. I was at a party where they served it and I recall I got real wasted. And they had those fake velvet black light posters on their walls and turned on the black light and lava lamp. It was a trip, to be sure, dude.

funny thing I remembered about smoking weed then was the mexican brick weed actually had a bit of dirt in it, you could pick out dirt clods if you got a bag big enough , I thought it was bizarre but it smoked stoney good and was like that for decades thru 70s80s (We only got the real dank budz around holidays or birthdays other wise daily smokage was what we called shwagg(Mex)

We took some of the stems from a kilo brick (with the pink paper around it) we broke down and thought we were going to make tea in a drip coffee maker. That tasted pretty much like bong water. By about 1974 not many people were doing brick weed in So Cal anymore, it was sensimillia, Columbian, Thai stick, and blond and black hash. Honey oil also.
