If you had to grow one plant what would it be?

I have seen some great scrogs but it is labor intensive and requires long veg.

I average about 20 oz from a 600w hps in a 3.5’ x 3.5’ area with 4 plants in 3 gallon pots bent and tied down to promote branching out into bushes.

I admit it took a couple years practicing with the same everything to accomplish it.

I used to use 40-60 day veg but when I tested the sativa leaning strains 12/12 from seed I still got the yield. Just had to tie and stake for support more as the branches were thinner.

I can move plants around easily to water and work on them and remove them from the room to harvest.

I run a perpetual with plants always flowering so I need to be able to move them.

Sorry I forgot this thread is about 1 plant. Oops. :-)
I disagree, I think it takes less work than other methods by a longshot. I spend maybe 20 min setting up the screen, and maybe a total of a few hours over the course of the first 3 weeks weaving it. And then the trim takes half the time. All in all it saves me around half my total effort at least to scrog the plant, and I yield more at the same time. Its truly a win win to scrog for me. It does make it harder to run perpetual grows, as you do, so I can see why you haven't adapted to that style. But for most of us it is the easiest way.

I concede to that. I can’t really say because I haven’t done it. I haven’t heard many get more than I stated with a 600 though.

However.

I am about to start a 3x3 Grow tent grow with a 315 LEC. The tent came with a trellis net.

That should get me started on the scrog perspective.

I got 15 oz under the sun system LEC to compare.

You can see the tie looped around the base of the stem here. The main stem is bent down and tied the opposite way.

As the buds fatten and get heavy I will add bamboo stakes as needed and tie up or down branches as needed.

Every plant is different here so I have to be creative and work with each plants needs.
I begrudge one like for this plant.

The size of the hole on a scrog screen, and the material used to make the screen make a big differance. You may have to do a little trial and error to find what works best for you.
I dont like flexible scrogs at all, while some people love them. I'm currently using wire fencing that has 2x4 inch holes made of wire. It's working perfect for me.
I think I've been making my plant too dense though. The people who are pulling 2gpw have a lower density of colas that are taller, if that makes sence. Right now my colas are practically touching , maybe a half inch between them across the whole 5x5 ft tent, and the light only let's the colas get about 8 inches. With about half the density of colas I'm hearing people say they can get them about 1.5-2ft tall an that pushes the yield up overall.

I’m learning what is 2gpw?

I would like to grow one pure Thailand strain. Start it outdoors in the spring at about 4' tall and groom it into a monster!!!
Fawk ya kool

One gram per watt with a mere four weeks veg and eight weeks flower use to be a kind of standard to aim for with all lights.

It comes from sog style with lots of smaller plants to push max yeilds.

I have no idea wtf 2gpw means in a scrog grow but things got mixed up after legal and leds bounced onto the scene and mainly its just somthing banded around with little context.

Just clear that up :-)

The whole gpw is pretty subjective. It all depends on your style of growing. Say one grower does just a few plants and a longer veg period to attain 1gpw. And another grower does more plants with a shorter veg and attains the same 1gpw. Assuming they both used the same wattage lights, say 400 in veg and 1000 in flower. And the same strain. The grower only running a few plants will have spent more on his electric bill than the grower running more plants with a shorter veg to attain the same yield. It's more about kilowatt hours per gram. Rather than grams per watt.

The additional electricity used when vegging longer.
The additional time and work when vegging longer.
Harvesting less often. Maybe 3 harvests instead of 4 per year.

And the biggest factor IMO when reading a fairly new members posted results.
What % are honest results and what % are fabricated results because less than 1 gram per watt is no longer cool. It's got to be 1.5 grams now or is it 2 lol.
