If I missed the FIM can I just top it?

I fimmed 6 plants for the first time 72 hrs ago and there is regrowth but they all look like leaves at this point. IF they turn into multiple stalks great, but if they don't can I just top it off a few nodes down from where I fimmed to avoid mutilated leaves?

No need, there's only 2 ways to mess up a FIM which will either result in a normal top or removal of the new fan leaves but leaving the top.

missing a fim... sounds redundant to me :)

Anyway, new stalk growth will be in the form of leaves. As they come out, they leave a stalk behind.

ok, what I see now is two outer leaves with a bit of stalk already and then 2 small leaves and then when i look down inside i see 2 little nubs. so i am going to go ahead and assume it's working :D some are slower than others to respond I have noticed... I also topped a few plants cuz i thought i messed up the fim.

I could try fimming the topped plants once they grow in :D

actually that was my question - i dont want a normal top - so if the fimming doesnt work can i just go down a few nodes and top it?

oh, what I mean by "normal top" means "as if you topped the plant" so if you fuck up the 1st way it'll be the same as topping it. If you fuck up the second way the top will keep growing but the fan leaves will have been chopped off.

you cant miss a fim long as you cut the top but not the whole top it will push out more tops depending on how many nodes you have you cant miss a fim LOL

It takes awhile for you to see what the outcome will be from your FIM but you cant really miss it lol...usually takes at least a couple weeks to see what the plant is really going to do, usually acts kind of confused on what to do at first.

If your looking for multiple tops and your fim job doesnt do the trick, then yes you can always top the plant, but in my experience it basicly impossible to miss a fim, just give it about 10days and you should have a splitter start growing.

You can miss a FIM, like I did on my first time, lol.
Check this out, I'm currently testing this method to see if it's better than topping.
