If the plant fell and nobody was around, then you would not hear it therefore would not know that it fell and would be unable smoke it. If you were to stumble upon it, then you could totally smoke it.

However, there is no proof necessary, it's only in your mind.

No matter what, whether heard or not the plant would make a sound. This conclusion would make sense due to the fact if a plant falls, and someone IS around to hear it, it WOULD make a sound! The "someone" does not have to be there! You can also smoke whatevers clever... I would stick to herbs though
Finally, food is good.
