Identifying males - share pics

I, like many people, use "free seeds" to grow.
This means a lot of wondering "is it male or female?"
I hope that people show their examples of how to identify MALES.

At 2 weeks indoor and now 3 weeks outside, my plants are just starting to show signs.
Height can be used as a "first pass" assessment.
Males growing taller faster and have more space between branches.
Taller male plants better pollinate the female plants.IMG_20210607_104232855.jpg

The tall plant also has these identifying features developing but still too small to be certain.

I have looked at these signs in the past and have been dead ass wrong.

I tell if it's a male by if it has balls.

I tell if it's a female by if it has calyxs.

I tell if it's a hermie if it has balls and calyxs.

Hope this clears shit up for you.

Also crossed stipules don't mean shit.

What do the nodes show like wizzle said that's really the only way to know...I have two males in the garden and they are taller but it means nothing pollen can travel miles...so a short plant can pollinate a tall plant easy imo

I'm getting to work on this pollen superfood
Can anyone tell me if the pollen comes from a pine tree is it still bee pollen?

My tallest one is now definitely a male
Second set of branches from the top

While taking pictures I was touching the plants and noticed that at this young stage the plants that I have identified as male have much less smell than the females - even at this young stage.

See and most males I've had in the past smelled worse then my females. Best thing is simply wait for them to show. No need to rely on old stones myths or magic gnomes and shit. Just wait catch them early and bam keep some pollen for breeding or kill it with fire. Simple as that.
