hey there,
I am just about to harvest my first ever grow. Its been a good learning experience for me. I really cant wait to start my next crop... I'm hoping its gonna be bigger and better in every way. This first grow has been a bit of a mish mash.. I didn't have a ph meter for th first 5 weeks, neither did I have extraction to start and a lack of many other things.
I grew 4 plants in 4x 10ltr air pots, my tent is 80x80x160cm. I have a 300watt dual spectrum CFL with reflector and a 100 watt CFL 2700k bulb. Its coming into hotter months here, id like to upgrade to HID lighting. I have a 600w digital ballast and a 6" inline fan.. Iv had a little play but temps are way to hot. Id like to gat an adjustable ballast and maybe rum a 400w set up with a cool tube, I'm open to the idea a led but cant afford to splash out that much... Unless there is a cheapish way. I know led and cheap shouldn't really go in th same sentance lol.
my grow in about to harvest was all autoflowers.. 3x red poison from sweet seeds and 1x fruit auto from dinafem. Th fruit auto has done the best by far, very tight buds and decent colas. The red poisons have a great aroma and are very resinous.. But buds are quite airy.. I'm aware this is prob a lighting issue, also I had a problem with all of the red poisons from the start.. I suspect this was ph related. I love the red poison buds look very impressive but just don't have the density of the fruit auto.
I have 1 red poison seed and id like to run it again and give it a fair crack of the whip this time. This leaves me with 3 pots to fill.. They will have to be autos... Unless I scrap the red poison seed for now and try photoperiods'. I do kinda like the idea of autos for some reason.. Don't ask why lol.
I am very tempted to fill the other pots with Dutch passions think different or their ultimate auto.. I would like a pretty easy to grow high ueilding strain. I'm open to all sugestions. I'm thinking that if I do go with think different or one of the xxl autos that I might just run two then introduce another 2 half way through due to tent size.
have u guys got any ideas? I am gonna make a decision in the next day or two. Any of your opinions would be greatly valued.
