Ice smoke report

Strain: Ice. Seed bank: Marijuana Seeds NL. Breeder: unknown.

Growth: Easy to clone, 12- 14 days, a little on the long side though. Very quick vegatative growth, lots of side branching. No need to top, pinch once maybe. Quick finisher....under 8 wks.

Nutes: Medium is FFOF with complete FF lineup. Cornucopia plant energy(tricarboxylic acids) an organic local product, and Synergy as another soil additive and flushing agent.

Yield: Medium. Little trimming with this pheno, high calyx to leaf ratio.

Bag Appeal: 8. Buds are extremely loaded with trichs. A tad airy though.

Smell: 9. In veg it smells like a cross between sweet fruit and smelly socks, after curing it's all fruity. Just cant put my finger on which fruit(s).

Taste: 7. Smooth, just wish it tasted like it smells.

The High:9. Very strong, yet motivating. Hard to sit still and finish the bowl. After a couple of hits you want to get up and do something and after a couple of more hits you start forgetting what it was that you were doing. Good social weed though, as you tend to talk and laugh more. An all around mood elevator.

Comments I grow two other top shelf strains, but the Ice seems to be most everyone's favorite, myself included. It is very strong and not for the faint of heart.
Had 3 phenotypes out of 4 females...one had large airy buds and the pistols stayed white even after the trichs had changed. Pheno #2 was good but the keeper has the best smell, most resin production and is all calyxes!

Day 45 trichs are about there.....

I hadn't grown this strain indoors since last winter and I've forgotten how quickly it finishes. Trichs are 10% amber. One more flush and they will come down at around day 48. I veg my clones for 2-3 weeks....so total grow time for these girls would be about 65-70 days from the time they hit dirt.

I'll post pics later...cant upload them right now for some reason

Nice pics. That looks like it'd be a breeze to trim, which has become much more of a qualifier for me here lately. I hate leafy strains, too much work to trim. Do you know what the lineage is on this one?

Your right , it is very easy to trim. There was a pretty good variation
in phenos....3 different out of 4 females. This is the one that I chose.

I do know the lineage....meant to put that in, must have spaced it out.
Afghani/Nothern Lights/Skunk/Shiva.
Won the Cannibus Cup about ten years ago, if that means anything to anyone.

All regular seeds packs contain 30 marijuana seeds - 10 of each seed variety

Feminized packs are available in both:
30 feminized marijuana seeds - 10 of each feminized seed variety OR
15 feminized marijuana seeds - 5 of each feminized seed variety

This is from their web site. I wanted to order these about a year ago but didn't see where they were getting their seeds and who their breeder was so I didn't order them. I'm assuming they grew out their own seeds they got from other breeders and bred them for their own seeds.

Did you use the Femed Seeds? Thank you again for sharing.

No I didn't. 4 females out of nine seeds.

First couple of strains that I worked with, I used feminised seeds, but not any more.

Here's a couple of Ice nugs that are curing

Good luck bro

Those nugs look disgusting! killer man you should be proud

Thanks for posting the lineage.

I might have to look into growing this, the finished product looks incredible. Talk about bag appeal!

By themselves, 5. Never heard of the super strong pack. Fall of 2008, UK postal strike....took 3 months for them to get to me. Actually I had long since written them off

i have some greenhouse seeds feminized alaskan ice seeds that a med user kindly gave me before his demise last summer. do you know if this is similar to the ice you grow? thx.

No I believe the Alaskan Ice is a cross between White Widow and some sort of Haze and I hear it stretches like hell during flower. Ice is a cross between....Afghani/Northern Lights/Skunk/Shiva

thanks for the info. i wonder why such different strains are called "ice?" next time i start some seeds i'm going to give the alaskan ice a try and hope there's some way i keep it under control.

If I were you, the next time I started seeds I'd use the best genetics as possible. As far as the Alaskan Ice goes, I have heard several people that were disappointed with it and only one who had anything good to say about it.

Good luck Dance

i appreciate the advice. i'm not out anything on these seeds since they were a gift. i am curious though...aren't GHseeds good genetics or are some their strains good and some not so good? i also have some GHS k-train seeds that he gifted to me.
