Icbal's first grow- seed from friend's homegrown

Hi, I've been growing this plant for about 8 weeks now. I've just been growing it in my closet with a fairly minimal budget. Not trying to get a ton here, just to hold us over for a little while. I used miracle grow during the 6 weeks it was in veg, and am now using fox farm tiger bloom. Lighting is a 125w grow light I got off amazon. :blsmoke:About a week ago she got a fungus gnat infestation. I've been using neem oil with a seemingly good success although they're not all gone yet. I'm getting some SNS-203 wednesday, though, hope that works. A few days ago there were a ton of gnats, so I imagine the larvae are everywhere. The leaf tips are yellowing, not sure if that is damage from the gnat larvae or if it's neem oil burn. Advice appreciated. :-P

Looks ok for the setup, I think maybe it was over ferted but new growth looks pretty good. Cover them roots up from the light they don't like that. Looks like the soil is pretty dense, no perlite for drainage. Does that thing your using as a pot have drain holes? Gnatrol works great for those gnats. Have had them numerous times in different locations. Good luck.

No, it doesn't. It's actually an aquarium, I was pretty toasted when I repotted it lol

This grow was just supposed to be an experiment for my second grow so I've been taking it slow. I plan on building a grow box and ordering some seeds for next time.

Wow I'm surprised it looks that good. You need have good drainage. Add perlite next time and put it in an actual pot. Or at least drill some holes in the bottom of a bucket. I'd move this thing soon if you want it to live much longer.

Update ? I`m suprised that one in the fishtank got that big it`s even starting to get pre flowers . Try and just wait till the soil is kinda try and put it into a black or dark green pot with holes on the bottom . cheers .

Sorry for the lengthy time between updates. Tonight is the 25th night of flowering. I think it's looking good and healthy. Is it underdeveloped or on schedule considering its just under a 125w cfl? I got rid of the gnat problem with some SNS-203; great stuff! I used it twice 7 days apart at the most concentrated ratio on label. I pinched off all the leaves at the bottom, seemed to keep the gnats down some until the sns-203 came in.

The soil came from a plowed up hay field, had only hay and cows on it for 20 years or more. I've just been watching the soil in the glass, you can tell when it dries out, Oklahoma dirt looks reddish when dry. I don't want to mess with repotting it, I'll just do everything right next time around and see what happens here :blsmoke:

I'm in the research phase of a grow closet. I have a 190 cfm fan with a carbon filter and am planning on getting a hps along with a few others, I dont know yet. If anybody has any links to good closet builds, post them up. I have about 4x3x7 to play with.

check out my closet grow im just starting should be something similar to what your talking about

Will do. It's going to be a couple of months before I tackle it head on, just a little here and there. I'll keep up with yours though, thanks!

I build a pretty sic grow box for my closet while at work today. I have literally no money put into it, just a few hours building it. Ill put pics up tomorrow, but its 23.5x26x48 (closet limitations) with 4 2700k 700 lumen cfl's, as well as 2 2700k 700 lumen led floodlights, 2 3000k 500 lumen led floodlights, and the 125 cfl i was using before. There's a fair amount of distance between the plant and lights

As promised, here's the growbox. I have to admit, it's pretty rough and thrown together, but it was just a quick build with what I had at the shop.

I'm thinking about switching the led bulbs to the cfl's like I got here. Opinions?

Build looks sick dude don`t know about the lights depends on what wattage cfl`s you`ll be replacing those led`s with . Whatever strain this is it looks good nice fat indica dominant buds probably going to get very big with the ventilation , the cab is awesome nice build . You could get y-adapters and add mass cfl`s also they would be at an angle , not facing downwards with isn`t ideal :) . Nice job though i`d replicate something similar to this if i had the vertical space . Goodluck will check back soon to see how the bud is coming along .

Hey thanks man! Ive seen some home built boxes on here that are like caddillacs compared to mine tho haha i was thinking the same thing about the y adaptors. Everythings looking good so far. Ill put up update pics tomo or sunday.
In the meantime, any suggestions as far as lights go?

Quick update for Sunday. Not a whole lots changed, gnats are getting common again. I spread the stems out some to help get closer to the lights.

Anybody have any ideas on what strains this thing is looking similar to?

Didnt pay it too much attention the first half of the week, came back to find gnats! Pretty sure that's taken care of as of yesterday, and today, no gnats. Not sure if the yellowing fan leaves are due to stress from that, or if its part of the maturing process. All the leaves on the upper part and all around the buds look strong and healthy.

Again, opinions and critics welcome.

Peace

Looks f^$&##$ dank dude no idea on the strain if I had to guess I`d say Aurora Indica or Mango , Cheese :) . It has realy strange colour hairs so yellow looks like your friend hooked you up with good seeds . Still looks like a while to go , I hope my bud looks like this time around using a different strain . Peace keep it up it`s doing awesome in that cab .

Been awhile since I updated. The plants not doing so well, actually it looks horrible. The buds look pretty good and there's a good amount considering the circumstances the plant is in lol but it looks like severe nute burn. It worked it's way up from the bottom, and just yesterday hit the tops. It's just about done with week 7, and about 50% of the trichomes are orange aside from the colas, which are still mostly white. Either way, I dont think it's going to make it. Flushing isn't an option so idk, cut it or wait a little longer? I don't want to mess with repotting or whatever, I'd rather start over the right way.

Gave it some epsom salts and waited a few days, it started growing new leaves and wasnt looking too bad considering. I found a seed on one of the bottom buds so I went ahead and cut her down. Been been drying for 5 days and just put them in a jar. I can't say I was anticipating more, especially since it was vegged and the first couple weeks of flowering was under just a 125w cfl. What it doesn't have in quantity it damn sure does in quality! The effects are completely body numbing and mind dumbing. Not the best stuff I've ever studied on lol but it helps me sleep at night

Just a small sample, the two tops and two average sized buds, aside from the tops being outliers, quality is consistent throughout the rest, leading me to believe my cab isn't working too bad lol

All in all I'd say I'm pleased with my results. I wish I could keep out of it long enough to cure it for a few weeks, but I doubt that will happen. Quite a learning experience and next time will be much better!
