Ok so im sick of getting so many freakin males when i grow.. im not that experience this is my 3rd grow. My plants are in flowerin now but they only have been in flowering long enough to tell the sex about 8 or 9 days... Now that i know the sex i want to clone them or can i still clone them is it too late??... Im growing out of a grow tent using a 600 watt hps light in soil... I built a small grow box to start growing my clones out of but i want to just use cfls will this be ok and how many will i need to get and what wattage???? thats the main question... im planing on having around 10 - 20 clones... soo anyone please help a brother out

take some cuttings and give cloning a try...

clone early and clone often

i started cloning on my first grow. i got mothers and flowered the daughters...

clones > seeds

i realy dont even know what a mother is? i never seen anyone explain what it was

Simply put, a "mother" plant has only one use (when it come to growing), once it is determined that it is indeed a female....then you can make as many clones as you want....

clones are just that.....an exact repoduction of the mother plant....think of it as children of the plant world.....

once you have the clone to a nice sice (depending on space, mind you), a foot or so....then you can flower it/them

there is also the SOG (sea of green) or SCROG (screen of green)....but I won't into that right away.....

Hopefully I was able to clear that up for you,

hey thanks that did help... but what happen the mother plant after you start taking cutting from it does it still produce buds just wondering

By keeping the light on for more than 14 hours a day, almost all MJ plants will stay in a vegetative state and will never initiate flowering. A mother plant is a female that grows all the time, you take a bunch of cuttings and reduce its total size by 3/4, in 6 weeks it will have grown it all back and you can take more cuttings to clone. makes for a perpetual harvest. You take the cuttings and with the help of water and air, a rooting medium and some rooting hormones you cause that plant to start to grow new roots, essentially becoming a whole new plant that has the exact same properties of its "Mother" plant.

You most certainly can take cuttings off an already flowering plant and clone them. thats precisely how most people get a start with the mother. they started flowering to determine sex, and then cloned the female to make a mother, in the mean time they flowered the original plant to see what the smoke would be like. Works like a charm.

ok well tanks yall..... ok so im going to try to start cloning today. Like i said i got a custom box i made and i just bought 4 60 watt cfls i hope that will be enough light for some clones... i never grown with cfls before.... then i bought Green Light rooting hormone from lowes its the poweder kind. Is there anything eles im missing???

I have been doing well with cloning for several months now and you can definitely take cuttings from plants after they start flowering. They will stress out for a while when they switch back to veg, but they can take it as long as it's not too long into flowering.

I would add some kind of dome or mini greenhouse to your list. New clones like to be kept moist, and I've found keeping them under a clear dome helps until they start rooting. I also spray them down daily with PH balanced water only. New clones have no roots to take in water so you have to keep them moist!

Good luck!

its best to have a couple of mothers to clone from that way you can let one recover on the next batch of clones you take , you should try some T5s high output they will work better than CFLs
