Based on what I have read, it is all in how you cure your buds. Maybe not all, but for the most part.

Drying and curing, not over drying either. Have you ever smoked bud that sat in open air for a while? It is unpleasant and the high is degraded. I haven't finished a grow, but that's my 2 cents. During the curing process, why not test little bits out of your bud. That will give you a good idea of when it is ready.

It could also be the method you use to smoke. I can grind up a small batch using some for my pipe and roll a few joints. I might let the batch sit a few days, when I smoke using the pipe it might be a little harsh (coughing until I pee a tiny bit)
Then when I smoke a joint after it has bee in a plastic bag for a day or more, the smoke is smooth and I don't cough at all, even with big long inhales. After grinding and letting it sit a day or more must add to the cure. Some people believe it is due to hydro or soil, others the ferts and nutes used, the list could go on and on. I still think it is mostly on how you cure.make shure u flush ur plants well before chop down then take all the fan leaf off hang it to dry till its can be handled do a final trim and then in jars open the jars twice a day for moisture to escape for halt hour to hour and let it do its thing that has worked best for me takes about 2 weeks to dry or so but its worth it no matter how u do it flushing the plant well and drying slowly will have a better taste imo

Maybe all the optios will get covered here. Good results is usually a combined effort, it's more than one thing that contributes to the outcome.

well, depending on your operation, flushing isn't incredibly important. I know some of you will disagree, but hear me out. If this guy is just growing a few plants in his closet using organic soil and no nutes and feeding just bottled water......there would be no reason to flush. right?

I HAVE finished a bunch of grows....4-6 per month for several years now.....seldom flush as I only use organic soil and nutes....slow dry my nuggs over a 10 day period in a home-made dry box, then on to mason jars for a cure. IMO...most take 3-4 weeks cure to obtain good, smooth taste.....side by side comparison of flush or no flush, molasses and no molasses...etc have revealed no advantage to either IMO....just keep it simple....
Personally, I dry my herbs a bit past dry as I only vape....vaping is much better with drier nuggs......overdrying does NOT degrade thc...as long as drying temps are controlled.

yes i have in one gallon pots and 19 gallon pots and in the ground, hell even in cups.. all taste the same. and yes with same strains..

I see your point. There is nothing to flush out, only your organic nutes in the soil. If you did flush you would have to replace the nutes that were flushed out of the soil.

thats why i staop all nitregon a month in a half b4 harvest.. a plant don't need the nitregon during the latter part of flower.
are we on same level im talking final flush before chop down i was always told that not flushing before chop down can effect the final products taste ,,, when i started flushing it was tastier maybe it was just that strain will not flush a plant this time and c like i said guys this all my opinion and not trying to get bashed on like some so thanks for kepping it a conversation

My friend grew two plants with same soils mix both from the same mother; one he flushed and another he did not.
Smoked both; basically identical except the unflushed was less smooth more unnatural tasting, flushing works imo.
