umm this is my first time growing and im doing it in my 2 by4 closet. i planted them aroun july and im using a floresent light without a reflector. they are about 20-25cm big. i water them everyother day and spray them with a waterbottle almost everyday. Now my problem is ive had them on 24 hour light everyday since they were about 10cm tall. I've read in other articles that your supposed to switch around the 36th day which i am ahead of by about 60-90 days what should i do and how will it affect my plant?

what is the wattage output of the bulb? It can't be much if they are only 10" big after 3 months. Get more light and bring it closer to the plants, flourescents should be set up about an inch away from the top of the plant.

Plants will continue to vegetate while they are getting more than 13 hours light. That means they will continue to grow and never bud. To start them flowering the light will need to be switched to a 12 12 cycle, 12 on, 12 off.

your right the light is only 25 watts and the light is about 6 inches from the top. i do have another question i have 2 plants in the same closet ones younger and smaller but it has more leaves. It is also dank where as the bigger one is 30's. about how long will it take to start buding once i switch to the 12-12 cycle?

Like he said, put your light fixture one inch above the top of your plants. You will want to get more flourescents eventually. To flower, they must receive 12 hours of uninterupted darkness every day. You will start to see flowers forming in 15-20 days.

1st thank you for these tips i really appriciate it. And should i change the lightbulb to a higher wattage? And how much do timers cost? Also i put some dry ice in the closet that i had by coincedence. How much will that effect the plants? And i heard about using sugar and yeast should i do it? And one last one, is the investment of a reflector worth it. Sorry for all the questions but anyone that can help it would be greatly apprisiated(sp)

Hey Man, yeah, I appreciate that you told us you misspelled that word.

Just putting the light one inch above your plants will help, and more watts is always better. A good reflector is a must.

The dry ice will melt, and raise the CO2 levels a little. You shouldn't worry about CO2 yet. A constant supply of fresh air is what they need.

Timers cost 6-8 bux.
