58 here old timers lol. 1st plant was in the late 70's, smoked the leaves. Probably got light headed from smoke inhalation.
1st indoor closet grow with a 400 W HPS, MG soil and MG liquid ferts in the mid 1990's, switched to ffof a couple of years later, got hooked on growing, named my strain and hermie seeds Buba Blend.

I feel young now. I’m 49 and I have only been growing personally for 4 years and a couple years helping my first caregiver when I moved here. I’m not from Michigan. I made up my user name on the spot when my breeder emailed me if he could use a pic I sent. Seemed a good safe name to appear on Facebook, Instagram and his site. So it was already my name when I joined here.

But I do have history with plants and growers since I was young. About 1983 is when I met the farmers of outdoor skunk weed in south Jersey near where I grew up.

When I was in my 20's I thought a 40 year old was old. Now I like hanging with 70 year olds to feel young.

Fuck that. I do my best to deal with my illnesses and ride mountain bikes with Mrs. mmg’s 25 year old brother. Among other fun activities. I miss Colorado and the mountains so I need to compensate. Hell she is 35.

I like talking to old people too. But for their perspective not to feel young. I will likely kill myself trying to ride something eventually. I really suffer for it sometimes but always want to go. Like snowboarding in my 30’s. We rode a lot of mountains.

What thread is this? I am so sorry for babbling in it.

I thought of a better analogy.

Some people grow old passively. Some people grow old actively.

Some people grow with HPS. Some people grow with LED.

Its funny how the older guys are the ones not making up grand monikers for themselves like "master grower" in fact we find the title amusing.
We are also the first to ask how and why and admit we don't know it all (I'm a shit grower compared to some of you and don't mind admitting the fact). We can also disagree and debate, sometimes harshly but that doesn't get in the way of the next conversation or friendly PM.

Master grower? fk me your either a horticulturist or a gardener.

IDK. The word Master may be the problem for some here. Who created the word? Owners or other growers? IDK.
I don't know where the term came from but owners out here are using it as a job Title.
If one facility wanted to talk to the guy getting the job done what should they call him. Grower? Gardener? Guy who makes the buds?

I don't care if his title asshole personally. It's not like he hasn't thought of me as an asshole at times, who hasn't.

Humor Brothers not anger lol. ;)

There are about IDK 30 facilities out here ranging from 5,000 Sq Ft to 100,000 sq ft.
They have positions to fill in this order.

1) Owner. Got to have them unfortunately since a 20,000 sq ft facility cost what IDK about 6 to 8 million. Hate them or love them. Seems like they are a necessary piece of the puzzle right?

2) General Manager. Stressful job. Difficult job. Does everything important, don't feel like going through the list but basically gets the harvest to the market and much more.

3) MASTER OF HIS DOMAIN THE MASTER GROWER.
These are the guys that get the job done. They have to grow 1,000's of clones and produce good quality buds and of course get an acceptable yield.
He may have 1000 gorilla glue and 1000 Kosher Kush and 1000 9 pound hammer and 1000 blue dream and on and on to deal with.

4) Is everyone else needed to process everything and office workers, don't need to fill in the blanks there.

About my friend.
He is one of us a fellow grower. He answered every question this grower asked. He was the 1st master grower I ever met. He shared the word and did not ridicule my lack of knowledge or my tiny grow of 12 plants or my 400w HPS lights.

Call them what you want but they have to have some kind of job title.

It has been 2 days and 4 hours since I said I would be good.

I treated this site as a competitive game and came across as a jerk to many, I am seeing that now.
I am also going to ignore trolls.
I think I'm going to make the transition easily because I already feel better.
