Any help is greatly appreciated!

Huge numbers of springtails can be detrimental to young plants.

but they are a part of the soil web feeding on decaying matter such as rotting leaves, dead roots etc and fungi.

Cool man, my plant isn't young anymore she's actually kind of a beast now. Lol. The problem for me is, I don't know what to consider huge numbers to be. 1000,10000,100000? The plant looks good, so I'm guessing they got plenty of other shit to eat. Lol

Creating more wet and dry cycles (growing method dependant) can help to lower numbers.

like I said they are beneficial and only cause problems for the roots of small young plants.

I'm in an earthbox so dry cycles don't really happen. Funny thing is, I've not seen 1 fungus gnat. Usually I would've seen quite a few by now.

Not really out of nowhere.

theyre Some of the most abundant creatures on earth, athropods and hexopods lol.

you can always find some living in your home somewhere. Lol.
Lol yea I'm sure I could find some others around here somewhere. They must multiply fast. Since they help break shit down ill let em live. Lol

Funny, I just noticed my yellow sticky cards don't have any fungus gnats but had little specks Al around. I thought it was the fans blowing around top layer of soil, but putting them under 120x, looks like springtail to me.
