I like to DEC and CFL it just works for me, I use 2 400w brights, and later in growth 400w warms and my bubbler is an OMEGA fish bubbler which puts out excellent oxygen to water ratio it's a huge bubbler, makes great plants 4 at a time I do.

This would be a great aproach for a begginer to because you negate the heat problem of h.i.ds and can learn the basics of hydroponics.
