I just need some clarifcation about this type of bug.

I read the faq, but wanted to confirm what I have going on. I have these tiny black flies, that I see on the surface of my soil, and today I saw these very tiny worm like t things zipping around real fast. Is that fungus gnats?? I read that one method of dealing with them is fly paper. Would that really work? All the worms would just eventually be flies, and eventually land on the fly paper? My plants are only .5 - 1" tall, are they in any real danger?

Probably not in any danger especially if you get the yellow sticky fly paper...

I had the same problem. Its haunting me now! Get rid of those fuckers before your plant gets bigger. Get some neem oil. Also I found that placing a small cup of vinegar in the grow room kills them too. They are attracted to the smell and drowned in it.
