I just made a huge investment..

Well, at least it was a huge investment for me.. it was something that I usually do not do, but I happened to make a last minute change to my light purchase. Cost me $359.59 including shipping, but I ended up grabbing http://growershouse.com/phantom-cmh-reflector-ballast-and-bulb-kit simply because I was tired of wasting time.

I currently run a Mars Hydro Reflector 96x5 (175 watts) in my 4x4x6 flowering room, but I felt that it only covered one plant effectively and wanted to increase that number. How many do you think I'll be able to flower in this area with my mars hydro led + phantom?

I wanted to run four 5gal buckets in there.. haven't decided I wanted to scrog or not, but I do have four 19 inch clones that ready to go into some buckets for flowering. Would a 45 or 70 lpm air pump be enough to run four 5gal buckets?

I think you'll like that CMH. The guys doing efficient LED really like CMH. It should cover 3.5x3.5'. You could use your Mars for sidelighting in flower. You could add a foot to one side.

And/or, use it to veg.

I hope that I'll like it as well.. just trying to get enough medication for myself.

Nice snag! I have the sun system and have been really happy with it and this looks like a pretty nice set up also.. I can fit right about 4 of 5 5gal hempy buckets in the 40x40 under the 315 so this lamp should really help you get where you wanna go.

Good luck!

nice-looking girl you've got there OP. do you have a separate veg area to run a perpetual? if not, that will help a lot if you can set that up now that you have the extra light. running a perpetual has really helped me keep my medicine in stock. please report back on how you like your purchase. thanks!

A HUGE INVESTMENT of less than $400? Dude. Drop ten large on lighting, then get back to me about big investments.

Good choice. Always, always, always go big with air in buckets. Always. Also the OP just might want to check into a chiller depending on location. High res temps cause almost as many problems as poor aeration. Maybe more!

I've been in RDWC for many years. Before I began chilling my water, nothing I tried would solve my root problems. Afterwards, nothing was needed.

Right?! I don't even want to talk about my bill right now, lol
We got an electric bill for $8. Showed zero electric used for a month. I have a 400-watt for vegging and went outside to look. Meter was dead. Immediately went to 24/0. But we did call the company and say we are here and using juice and they might want to check on that. A month later here comes the work truck. New meter placed. A month after that we got a bill for $65.00. So in 3 months we paid almost $72 legally and those plants got huge under 24/0. Now I will have to consider 24/0 even paying for it.

Exactly. I was given a huge commercial chiller used in salmon farming in AK. I had to add a lot more res's you know? And then more lights. An airport nearby was remodeling and high bay shop lights were being sold by the truckload cheap. Of course I bought a bunch. Half with HPS, half with MH bulbs. Used but still good. The whole upstairs was filled with shit. First electric bill was almost $450!!!!!!!

I have no idea. It was mounted on a huge piece of steel and was a commercial unit but old. Had no identifying manufacturer or anything other than 115V. But the thing could literally chill a 500 gallon tank for trout or salmon and bring the temp down quick! It was designed to be on or off. I'll ask the guy who gave it to me if he can remember the specs. In fact it was so cold I had to put aquarium heaters in each bucket to keep the temp up enough for good O2 uptake by the roots. Went from too warm to too cold. Next time it is a smaller one for sure.

I'd know exactly what to do with such a beast.
