I invited the police in and gave them a tour, seriously

In Colorado, things are a bit different. The police came and knocked on my door, answering a smell complaint. I showed them my paperwork and we went and had a thorough tour of my op.

It turns out I was in violation of a city ordinance banning more than twelve plants at a given address. I was given thirty days to come into compliance. This was my only violation, as my documentation was in order and I was within my approved count limits.

They were very nice and respectful, and offered to help ensure my carbon filter worked properly once I'm within compliance.

The last time this happened was twenty years ago, and resulted in a felony.

I think this is called 'progress'.

They did ask if I was selling it- and I said no, this is a research project, the goal of which is to reduce the costs associated with indoor cultivation with the obvious goal of rolling the technology out to commercial warehouses. In other words, the money goal was the project, not the pot.

Yeah, I'm right there with you on that!

I did think about refusing them entry, but what are medical cards and plant counts for if not to protect me in this situation?

I also figured that if I acted like I had something to hide, they would, too.
Heck yea, you did the right thing for sure. When I have a law enforcement encounter my only goal is to get them as far away from me as possible so if that means cooperation, then cooperation is what I give. Usually though avoidance is my default plan but what can you do when you have nosey neighbors.

In the neighbor's defense, I WAS/AM reeking out the whole neighborhood. And as odd as it might sound, I do try to live, let live and not step on toes. If you don't like the smell, it can be aggravating to be forced to live next door to a grow op- I get that, and I did spend plenty of money on a big carbon filter.

I've always been an ethical pothead and I see no reason to change now.

The Chinese word for crisis is comprised of two characters; danger and opportunity.

This looks like a prime opportunity to move someplace where I can grow and tinker without being molested by the law or stinking out my neighbors.

I could come out of this better than I could ever have hoped for. A little grow shop in the hills, just outside of town... sounds like paradise

why would they care what your business is with?..are you not allowed to grow and sell to dispensary?..as long as your paperwork is in order..why would they care?

you know every statement you made was noted don't you?

smell complaint?..you've been doing this for so long, your carbscrub not working?..how so?

with everything you know and do, all these years..all of a sudden there is a "smell"?

Under current Colorado law, caregivers and dispensaries are totally separate and may never commingle product. Caregivers can grow it and give it away, only commercial operations are allowed to sell it.

If course I know every word was carefully noted, which is why I told them the truth; that my facility is a research perfect designed to find and refine technology to reduce costs associated with growing indoors. I told them that was the money goal, not the crop.

The fuckin' carbon filter never worked perfectly, even when new. No one has to lie here, I know it's a strange concept. I'm still getting used to it, myself...

Fuck the police. That's all I got to say.- Berner.

Last time a cop just open my garage. Because he saw green substance. Lol cop case got thrown out....
That chip was a sick thug with a badge and has no business sullying the uniform.

These officers were completely different in their approach and their attitude.

It helps a lot that these cases have already been fought in the courts here and the DA knows he can't get convictions.

just call me spammy:

the "cop" knock send shivers and goosebumps (it's a PTSD thing for me)

i had the "semi"-cop knock the other day and sat in my living room paralyzed for 30 minutes before i could move..wasn't expecting anything.

the postman delivering some lame calendar from a realtor (addressed to occupant) that didn't fit my mailbox.
