I hear there is no such thing as Powdered CaMg ! WTF do i do?

I found a thread on here saying Powdered CaMg does not exist.

I know that Dolomite is the closest thing... but I'm trying to fix my SS to work with my RO system, not add more Dolomite... or is that what I do?

Sub blatantly says to: "add 1/2 cup powdered CaMg if using an RO system" on the recipe for his SS.

SO WHERE DO I FIND THIS SHIT?

I do have some CaMg+ from General Organics it is;

Calcium CARBONATE------5.0%
Magnesium CARBONATE--1.0%
With 10% Molasses & 2.5% cane Sugar

IF POWDERED CaMg DOES NOT EXIST THEN WILL GO'S CaMg+ WORK LIKE ONCE A WEEK AT 1/2 STRENGTH?

...you could stop making so many threads and consolidate your concerns into one....

perhaps you could include calmag at 5ml per gallon and correct your soil mix next batch.

......like i told you in a pm.....if you are using r/o, just add a little bit more dolomite, it is cal and mag, that is all sub is refering to.......it really is that simple.....you will have plenty in your mix!......you are not helping yourself, or your patients by allowing yourself to stress so much about calcium and magnesium.....good luck bro

i dont use RO water so thought there was powdered calmag for soil, guess not! you should add a bit more espom salts and dolomite to your next mix then see what the results are... or you can use CalMag+ not sure on application rate but should say it on the bottle. usually 1tsp/5ml

Sub was referring to pulverized dololmite lime which is powdered calmag. Calmag+ would work also but some of them have N for whatever reason. You can make your own liquid calmag by mixing R/O water with citric acid powder and pulverized dolomite. Give the acid some time to dissolve the calmag and the ppm will rise. Add a splash of that concentrate to each watering/feeding if you are using R/O.

i wonder how many of us actually need to use r.o.? has anyone gotten there water tested and as a result of those tests deemed it necessary to use r.o? i wouldnt recommend more lime. and i think sub has said as much himself. lots of ca choices: gypsum, oyster shell, rock phosphate plus the fish bone meal and guano thasts already in the recipe . add a little magnesium sulfate and that should be good. but id be willing to bet 99.9% of folks would be fine with tap water.

i live at the bottom of the mississippi river, r.o. is absolutely necessary for me. ppm out the tap is 440+ and the ph 8.2.

ppm of water doesnt tell the whole story. are pathogens present? thats what i would want to know. y not use a sediment filter/de-chlorinator if your worried about it. ive seen way worse ppm in the valley here in cali and plants grow fine. if the water doesnt kill the shit in your yard then its probably ok. have you ever tried to grow a plant with tap water?

previous grows i have used tap water. every plant had burned tips. no longer the case. but i did not get my r.o.(no di) filter for that, i have fish tanks also. if im already making water for my tanks, i may i well use it in my garden. i'm very happy with the results. no pathogens, the water is safe to drink.

If you weed thru all of the posts about supersoil sub said to add crushed oystershell and more epsom salt. Guess others are having luck with more dolomite. I havent used my supersoil yet but i am worried about calmag issues i have well thats 400 ppm and goes thru a water softener and i have all kinds of problems with my current grows because im using RO water.

Ive been trying to figure out if adding gypsum will help with the cal issues. read a thing the Rev said about his soil recipe saying if using RO you must use gypsum. says on the gypsum package it releases calcium up to 150 times faster than calcium carbonate. Not sure if it would be too much and lock out other nutrients tho.

my tap in the valley in cali ranges from 7.7 to 8.7 depending on what time of the year i test it,, ppm can be anywhere from 200 to 400,, straight tap water in my ez cloner and in my soil grows.. plus all the agricultural farmers do fine.
