So I am early in my grow endeavor and I have been unable to maintain proper rez conditions so now all my tubing thermometer ect is covered in slime I assume algae. How do I get rid of it? And is there any additive I can put in the tank to prevent it.. I know I need to maintain good rez conditions to help prevent....Thanks in Advance...Im in desperate need...I wanna cry...

A pic would help, I posted in that same thread that weedler linked you to, Those first pics arent what my issue looks like, mine is a clear snot like material and it gets on my airstones, really sick shyt..

You should put up a pic, and read that thread all the way through, if yours looks like any of the pics on that thread then read Heisenbergs recipe for EWC tea, those other guys have been using it successfully, and Im making my tea right now to treat mine

Brown slime algae is misnamed, since it is actually a type of cyanobacteria. It normally starts out clear and moves to a yellow and finally, as the roots die, pythium sets in turning it brown and giving it an odor. Slime makes the PH climb while most root disease causes it to drop. Slime does not improve even after the res is properly maintained. The trigger was probably an additive you use. DWC should be synthetic chemical only.

Sterilize the root zone with h202 or another sterilizing product, then treat a fresh res with ewc tea. Once you learn to correctly apply the tea, you wont have to worry so much about res temps.
