I have a problem with 2 of my plants. Help Me!

My plants have very small white yellowish dots on them. So I thought it might be spider mites but there are no visible spiders or spider webs or anything. And also some of the sides of the leaves are curling upward and the tips of some of the leaves are turning a dark yellowish brown (looks like there are rusty colored spots on top of the yellow tips.) Please give me a diagnosis and cure to this problem.

doubt anyone can really diagnose it without pics. have you checked the plant abuse chart in the growFAQ yet? it could probably help you more than anyone if you can't upload pics...
