ok I have 5 hash plants veggin they only sprouted out the ground about a week ago so im not worried about leaving the lights on for 24 hours 30 max but I have another plant that is 67 days old and 34 day's flowering damn near 5 week's I do have a timer but I dont trust it, it seem's to want to work when it feel's like it so my delema is im leaving for my mom's house monday afternoon probably 2-3pm what should I do with my flowering plant??
Just leave the lights on until I get home? or should I try to give it as much dark as I can before I get picked up monday??(btw I got from 9pm to 9am 12./12) Please help im nervous I dont wana screw it up and I plan on leaching it tomorrow or should I wait tell I get back and just feed it?? please please help thanks alot

dude i feel your distrust with timers, i have 2 of them and i JUST figured out how to use them. its actually very simple and will work 100% if you do it right, just push down the segments for ON time, and set the arrow to the correct time. PLEASE dont risk hermying your babies just because you're paranoid about timers - atleast give the timer a chance, dont just allow your ladies to hermy by fluctuating light/dark hours.

check it out, if your LIGHT cycle is 9am to 9pm:
-push in ALL the pins from 9am to 9pm
-set the arrow to the *current* time
-plug in your light / plug timer in outlet

i had a final exam right when my babies were being put to sleep (11am) so i HAD to use the timer, it worked perfectly.

the time can vary by like 5-15 minutes, i wouldnt risk a single minute after that. you can put them to bed at 9:10 if your schedule is 9 and you wouldnt really risk anything. but 9:30 is another story, just dont let it vary by much.

now just switch everything to the opposite.

it would be more beneficial to have more dark than more light. i would think that 1 interruption in the cycle would not hurt anything. :blsmoke:

i would flush before i left. that way they will be fully watered.

unfortunately, ive seen 1 interruption hermy about 3 grows - one of which was mine. i accidently gave my plants 2 hours of extra light (slept in + didnt use timer cus i was using a separate room for dark cycles) and i had a few hermies as a result. also, a buddy one time heard a loud crash during his dark cycle so he ran in the room thinking the light mover had fallen on the plants - it was actually just his big oscillating fan, and the result were hermies on the plant nearest to the door, which got the most accidental light. on the grow before that, his roommate had fucked up the timer halfway thru by about an hour and that resulted in several plants hermying. these grows were with about 7-10 strains, so im afraid its not just genetics.

im sure its possible for an interruption to occur with no hermies, but from what ive seen it raises the chances to almost certain. it really all depends on the situation, maybe a quick glimpse of dim light wont do anything but you can never know for sure.

damnit. my buddy likes to open my door the minute he comes over. i stand in front of it now. i had male flowers after he did that. i thought it was just normal. never again.
