i have 4 t5-24watt fluorescents & also a 250 watt mh/hps light what ones do i use????

T5 florescent bulbs work very well with seedlings.
The HID produces more heat which could adversely impact your your plants, thus I suggest save the electricity and use the T5's only for the first few weeks
Dr. Jekyll

Maybe you should run them all to determine if you can fry your seedling.
MH is typically used during veg mode, and HPS for flower
You may wish to consider using the T5's as additional supplement for both veg & flower, as your 250 watt HID is not what you would call overkill.

okay thank you also couple other questions for you…

would i turn on 2 of the 24 watt t5 for a few weeks or would i use all 4 then vegative stage i use the mh/hps 250watt light right?

Just use T5s? Seems like an obvious answer to an obvious question.

HID can burn out a seedling quick and cause irreplaceable damage.

T5s are cool and less intense.

Yep, use the T5 for now. If you get it wrong with the HID the death comes very fast. I had a seedling under a 400 watt MH and went to check it after a few hours and it was fried to death.

okay cool thanks! , i will put the 4 24watt t5 lights on it tonight and put the cfls away haha, but when its time for flowering i can use the 250watt mh/hps light when i change the cycle to 12/12 i will have the hps/mh light on right?

Once your plant has 2 set of true leaves you can start on mh/hps on at the same time as t5s as long as your temps are good

if you have CFLs you can use those instead of the T5s just to be extra careful if you want up to you and your temps
