i got ants in my plants!

okay, so i got an ant infestation i had a smaller pot with a plant in and they were EVERYWHERE in the bottom on the pot so took it ouside repotted the plant and killed the ants didnt see them for a few days and now after seeing a few here and htere i scooped some of the soil from a diff pot and they all started comming up im worried about my plants how can i get rid of them? i have heard that ants hate spicy herbs n stuff and people have said that cinnamon works. has anyone used this mothod or what has worked for you.

Cinnamon and black pepper look like good tactics. You might want to try driving as many ants as you can out of the pot and squishing them before using repellents, then make all your pots unattractive places to nest using repellents. Otherwise they might just move the nest into a neighbouring pot or elsewhere in your grow space. Flooding the pot with water for a short time should drive the ants to the surface as they try to escape drowning.
