Hello guys.. I dug maybe a 5-6 liter hole for a 2 liter pot size of a 3 - 4 week old plant (maybe about 8 nodes) I turned up the dirt a little and threw in some deer poo which a good ole' deer left behind, but otherwise didn't amend the soil at all below (just threw in some perlite mix along the edges and backfilled with the existing, turned up soil) I had a really small gardening shovel (the one that fits in your hand) The soil, below the dug hole, is a fairly heavy clay, but very rich. Will my bud quality suffer (just pertaining to soil conditions, all the other conditions are perfect)?? There's still plenty of time for good vegetative development, right? The plants just won't grow as big as fast, right? I'm spazzin out because I need this for sleep medication and I need it to be good quality. Oh yeah, it's an Ortega Indica from Dutch Passion.

Thanks :)

I am sure it will be just fine! Can't be worse in the ground than it is in a pot! I bet the roots will have loads of room to stretch out now!
It should give you lots of peaceful nights to come!

You have to be careful planting in clay unless you till up deep. It tends to compact at lower levels and will hold water like a bucket.

Having clay deep down is great though. I literally never have to water my tomatoes after they get a couple feet tall. This is in 100+ degree weather.

I agree. I used to cut the bottoms off my pots and recess them about 2" in the clay.
