I can't tell if I have a problem or not...

Okay, so I'm pretty new here and to this growing thing. I usually just lurk on here and try and figure stuff out myself but I can't really find anything on my main issue.

ANYWAY. I'm about two weeks into my grow from seeds [I decided to go with Bubbelicious auto+fem seeds from Nirvana] and one of my plants are missing the top tips of the leaves. I noticed that when they were just popping up and sprouting the leaves, that the tips were small and white-ish. They were there, but just white. And now they're just not there and it looks like something ate the tip, but they just actually never grew. The closest thing I found about it was that it was burn from nutrients, but I didn't use any nutrients and the soil I used was Fox Farm Ocean Forest, which I think is organic soil.

Anyway, the rest of my plants are just kinda flimsy...I'm not sure if they're just too young or if I should start blowing a fan on them.

And my smallest plant, the leaves are curling and stuff. Does that mean it's being watered too much?

I apologize if I sound really stupid, but any and all help is appreciated! <3

I'm pretty new myself, so take this with a grain of salt, but the first picture looks like nute burn. I've popped seeds directly out of Happy Frog (which is allegedly less "hot" with nutes than Ocean Forest) and had that same thing occur: the first true leaves come out white and eventually burn up. Amending the soil with a super weak seedling soil and perlite seemed to help the next seeds from burning at all.

As for the fan, absolutely. Air movement will improve things, including stem strength.

Not too sure about the last pic, though, as overwatering usually has the leaves curing downward, not to the side.

Good luck and happy growing!

lol you dont sound stupid.

that first plant is a very odd phenomenon that i've never encountered. it must be bugs I think. because your other plants seem to have their leaf tips intact.

does it seem to have less leaf everyday?

your little one looks like a light issue. i think it may be curling towards the light?

when in doubt wait a day for watering. if your topsoil is completely dry. then give it a water.

good luck :)

Some seedlings just plain suck and there is nothing to be done about it, but the rest of your plants look OK from here. A slight breeze on them will toughen them up, just don't blow them over. Mostly just keep them moist and the light far enough away to prevent burn, but close enough so they won't stretch, and you know about no nutes for the 1st couple of weeks . So carry on my friend and enjoy the grow. Peace

Thanks so much! Do you think just maybe an organic top soil with pearlite would be okay? I was surprised when I got the Ocean Forest that it had a bunch of wood chips and stuff in it.

The seeds are of shit quality, retarded growth spastic looking things, this is not your fault bro its the breeder.

Yeah that's actually why I was like, "WTF is wrong with this ONE plant..." It seems to be staying the same at least, but the leaves have been getting bigger and it's kinda just like....a tooth that never grew in, if that makes sense.

And, I'm looking now and I think you're right about the light...I'll go out and buy another and see if that helps it. :P Thanks!

Where I live it's kinda cold still, I'd say it's about 65 deg. in the room that I'm growing in at the moment. Would the fan make them too cold or anything?

Haha, I was hoping they'd be better for how much I had to pay for them then :/ I didn't really know where to buy seeds or anything, and I don't exactly have a way of getting them from anybody in person ^^; I got them from Nirvana since they had a good reputation for actually sending the seeds.

Is there a shop that you'd recommend or anything?

Check the N-P-K values. For seedlings, you usually find that they're under 1 each. If you do only that with perlite, the plant's will need food sooner than later. I've heard the Ocean Forest has enough food to keep the plants going for a few weeks on its own, though, so I'd recommend mixing them. Check out threads on soil mixes for better info on that.

That's always a possibility.

What kind of light are you running now?

I agree, Nirvana is a mediocre breeder at BEST. I'll give it to them, they really have a way of appealing to the beginner grower.

Attitude, I have ordered from them several times and I always receive them.
hth,

Herbies and Attitude are by far the best seed banks on the net. You have no reason to use anyone else. Herbies is a bit cheaper with their discreet shipping but Attitude has a larger selection.

UHHHHHHH.....I just have two T8 bulbs in one of those...light thingys. I'll upload a picture. I'm getting another set for my grow room that I'm moving them to once they stop mildly resembling 'strawberry' plants. Is that too little? I see other people's set ups with a ridiculous amount of light, but with different bulbs.

EDIT: the orange pots are vegetables lol. Ignore those~

Thanks! I'll probably go with Herbies next time, I see that they'll ship single seeds. I don't know how I didn't stumble on that site when I was looking for seedbanks...

hth,
I saw that site and all the strains they had and I was just like O_______________O; idonnowattoorder lol
I'll probably give them a shot once I know what I'm doing more :)

in the pic you have about 20 in each pot. right there your going to run into some problems. 2 in a pot that small can get pretty exhausting. you can grow plants under the t8, and getting another will help your chances.

if your a fluro guy tho. go CFL. more bang for your buck and not so damn big. pretty cheap too.

with 1 or 2 t8's though i wouldnt grow more than 6 tops. thats just my opinion tho.

1 plant per pot next time! lol

Oh no, Only the ones in the black containers are weed lol. The other ones are watermelons and cantaloupe that are going outside. We tossed them under the light for now because its been cloudy outside. ^^;
I only have 5 plants otherwise, so do you think two sets of a pair of T8's will be okay then?? They're each going to be in their own pot eventually when they get bigger [I was thinking of just putting them in the orange pots when I plant the fruit outside, is that too small? I don't know how big auto+fem Bubblicious plants get]
Sorry about the confusion! >_>;;
