I Cant diagnose my deficiency!!!!

I have a plant under 3 23 watt CFLs that has been pruned and lst'ed(and sadly broken down the center and repairing itself:-|). It is in a 3 gal container of all peat moss and is given the reccommended 1tspn a gal of fox farm gro big with every watering. Ive also added a little dolomotic lime incase i had a pH problem. But the very tips of the leaves have been dying/burning for awhile but recently I got some dead leaf tissue through the center of the leaf. Later, the leaf turns yellow and brown from the middle and dies. Also, i dont know if it is related but some of my leaves also bend at sharp angles(as in not just drooping but bending). it looks like a hand almost with the five bends being knuckles. The yellowing/browning/dying leaf problem stayed on one leaf for a little but then it showed up on leaves around it...could it be a spreading disease or just a deficiency?
I wish i had a good camera, i have a cell phone one but i cant get a good close up of the leaves. Ill try to get something up.

Thanks for the help,
Peace

PS:im a little high right now so if i forgot to mention something that would be help you, tell me.

Best guess is you are running your nutes too hot. I've never grown in straight peat moss, but the symptoms you are describing scream of Nutrient Burn. I would personally water with only H20 for the next five or so waterings. Then add nutes every third time, and if they get giant...then maybe every other time. But I for sure wouldn't water with nutes every time. Again, take this with a grain of salt....as I've never grown in peat moss before. I figure my best guess is better than nothing given the symptoms.

I am a newb... so take my advice with a grain of salt but it could be one of the following:

1) too much chlorine in the water (if only the tips are turning brown)

2) OR when you water your plants is the water touching the leaves? If you water plants with nutes and it gets in contact on the leaves it can fry them out. Usually the lower leaves come in contact with the water (cause they are closer to the dirt) and get fried a bit. If the leaves near the top of the plant are changing brown and yellow and you are not getting any water nutes on the those leaves then its probably a whole other problem altogether.

also people are going want pics... lots of things can cause a leaf to brown or yellow. however its the WAY it browns or yellows that tells you whats wrong with it.

If you check my sig youll see a link to some common plant problems maybe that will help you out too.

from the information given, it sounds like nute burn.. FLush right now, observe effects, and wait for more definite information. I have burned several time and this situation sound very similar.

Alright, got some (shitty cell phone quality) pics. Nutrient burn sounds understandable but i watered with only water a couple days ago and its still getting worse and worse everyday. How should I go about flushing? Also, i checked the pH today and it was at eight. The meter doesnt go past 8 so it might be even higher. How can I lower the pH? Can I lower pH by just flushing out all the extra ferts and salts?

You flush by watering plants until a ton of water comes out the bottom of the pot

Are you flushing with tap or distilled water? If your using tap water (which is known for acidity) then get tap water or get any water you can that has a neutral acidity or 6.5

first you wanna invest in a ppm and ph meter, even if you have to buy some cheap ones it's better than flying blind. You def wanna flush ASAP or they will die. I just had a water problem that cost me alot of time and plants trying to figure it out. Don't underestimate whats in your water. It does look like you burned them by feeding them too much. How much and how frequently do you feed them, with most food you wanna feed every other watering and never exceed the recommended instructions. In this case more is not always better...
