After trying with CFL's, i did some research and made the investment in a HID light, 600W HPS to be exact... the new, healthy growth is astonishing... just look from the 14-15.. i've never seen our grows do this well indoors, so happy right now... i dunno why i ever tried using CFL's to flower, they're only being used for seedlings from now on..

I'm sure others have been in my situation, having switched from flouro's to HID.. it really is an investment.. i'm a student and it was tough to find the cash to buy the HPS but i'll bite the bullet for a few months... cause i cant wait to smoke all of that extra bud come harvest!!!!

good to have you on the winning team. HID's are always a worthy investment.

i love you...

*fdd dances*

lol, they haven't burnt yet, the first few days the light was 3' above the plants, gradually lowered it down to 20"... i think... somethin like that anyways..

good job on gettin a hps, the investment over cfls will definitely pay off in the end. i mean to do a cfl grow right your going to spend just as much as you would an hps. and still probably not come out with as good of results.

I'm using 65w multi-spectrum CFL's for seedlings and babies; when they get bigger (3 weeks?) I'll put them under the HPS. Last time I roasted my blueberries with the HPS by the light being too close.

vent your lights and u never have to worry about burning your plants. my plants could touch the glass and not get burnt. but i keep the light a foot away all the time.

Well welcome me to the club...

After talking with NGT and him immediately seducing me into buying HID lighting, I went all out and got:

# 600 watt Digital Electronic High Output Remote Ballast
# SuperNova Reflector
# GrowBright 600 watt HPS High Output Horticultural bulb
# AgroMax 600 watt Metal Halide Conversion (MH) bulb

I'll keep the CFLs for when I can expand my grow space and use them for starting vegetation.

I use 26 watt CFLs for my plants, there growing really well, i just hope thell be good enough for budding, my one plant is 13 inches ( 7weeks) and the other two are 9 inches
(5-6weeks).

i used a 250w metal halide for veg and now im 5 days into flowering w/ 2 600w hps's (they are just over 5 weeks old) all of them are at least 2 feet and grow at least an inch or more a day.

You wont regret that decision!!!!

Very true!! You just can't beat HID's for flowering. It can be done using CFL's but you're wasting a lot of time and not getting nearly what your plants can offer you if you feed them with an HID light system.
