Okay, so i think i have bulb mites in my coco. it was hard to identify them but after weeks of research i think they are bulb mites or the mites from the tyrophagus family. so not having and insecticides laying around i took a 1 gallon pot with a clone and started feeding different chemicals to the soil to see the reaction of these bugs. the first thing i tried "liquid sevin" sucked made a mess didnt do anything to these mites except drown a few of them. so my next step was some 100mg liquid nicotine mixxed with some dawn dish soap and a bit of vegtable oil this seemed to set them back a little bit. after drenching the soil with this solution i only see a few on the top of the soil now and alot of them died on contact. during the day these mites dont really climb up the plant, but at night mid way through the off cycle go in and watch them everywhere. well desperate to save these coco clones waiting to get ready for the hydroton ive been looking into miticides/insecticides to find out that most of them are either license only or do not work. for instance i found 3-Phenoxybenzotc for $500 for 1.2ml and no thats not a typo. my question now is what about hypoaspis miles. do you think the will wipe these bulb mites out completely do you think they will survive the permethrin/pyrethrum miticides/nicotine. i mean want i really want to do is grab a flame thrower BUT if i can keep them off the hydroton then i can deal with them in the veg room. anyone else on here know anything about the tyrophagus or mold/bulb mites?
