Hydro???

I was wondering why if it is so easy to nuke your plants when you feed them why do they thrive so well in Hydro solution that has constant feed running over roots. Also I was told to always feed at half strength. does this pertain to hydro solution to soil. I use my hydro solution to feed my soil plants.

I know nothing about growing in soil but have often heard the hydro nutes are not good for soil grows.
