Hydro Leaf burn or disease?

Hi All,

I am hoping someone can help me identify this plant problem. Here is what I have to go on:

Here is my setup: 400 watt full spectrum MH, very clean grow room, ebb and flow hydro, using Ionic Grow nutrients at 70% strength with a little Green Fuse Root Stimulator (less than 50% strength), and some Nitrozyme (about 25% strength). Room temps between 75-85, but never higher.

1. Starting about 3 weeks into veg phase, began getting spots on lower leaves. The spots would appear on the leaf tips. If I cut the spots off, a few hours later, the spots would begin reappearing higher on the leaf. The problem started occuring on higher fan leaves, starting on the tips, then higher. I removed diseased portions with shears dipped in alcohol, but the problem continued.

2. Bought some Safer brand Garden Fungicide for flowers, fruits, and vegetables. This is a sulfur based product. I sprayed it on all plant leaves, but it appeared to have no effect after 5 days.

3. Changed out reservoir with fresh water ph'd at 6 and let sit for two days with no nutrients. I added Botanicare HydroGuard to the fresh water on the advice of a friend. Also took the time to wipe all surfaces with disinfectant. The problem stopped. I put Ionic Grow solution (only, nothing else) back into the reservoir at 70% and vigorous plant growth began for about 2 days. Now, the spots are starting to occur on new leaf growth.

4. No sign of insects with a magnifying glass, I think its a plant disease like a fungus, rust, or bacteria in the rockwool?

I've included some pics...any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Why stop trimming leaves? I cut the tips to remove the dead portions that might be spreading disease. Should I treat the problem differently if its nutrient burn vs. a disease?

Its "Medi Bud"

photos i forgot from last post....the backside of the leaf is brown, no signs of bugs under a 40x scope.
