Yo RIU hows it going!...

Had my clones 7 days now, they rooted when i had them so i planted them in their first pots. Their in coco and I've been feeding half the recommended dosage of A&B and Rhizotonic when they have been thirsty (every 2-3 days)...

They are currently under a 400W HPS around 2 foot above them... the air circulation is brilliant and the temps lights on are 24 degrees C & lights off around 21...

NOW... currently where i live its very cold at the minute so I need to put the heating on in the house more or less all the time to keep the temperatures up and as u can imagine the humidity is very low, even to where my hygrometer wont pick anything up what so ever meaning its below 30%!

On the video below the guy states its vital for the plants to have high RH when seedlings/clones but once they get older they seem to like the drier climates. My plants are a heavy sativa so they would be used to very high RH im guessing.

the girls are stunted severely, they havnt grown since i got them 7 days ago and its really starting to piss me off, im just wondering does the RH play a big part in the plants growth because the video states they flourish in higher humidity when there young and could this be the reason why mine are stunted...

Im gonna go out tomorrow and buy a humidifier, is there any direction where to put it? shall i just leave it in the tent? or outside of it so the intake can bring the humidity in? feedback always appreciated!! thanks in advance people!!!

Hang a damp towel in there or 2 if need be, save your money.
As the plants grow the humidity will increase.

If you are really worried get some bell cloches which are humidity domes.

I have the atami 11L pots with matching humidity domes.

As long as the plants don't wilt you should be fine.

yo man, ive got 2 towels in there, a bucket of water aswel... nothing is bringing the humidity up! they havnt grown in a week so it must be the humidity, im doing everything else right??

they look more healthier than when i first got them dont get me wrong but they aint growing in height!

Just found this article....

[h=3]Example of a low humidity problem:[/h]When you start out, your plants will be small with not much vegetation. The grow light(s) will also heat and dry the air in the grow room; giving a RH level of 35-50% and temperature of 25-28°C. This will cause the small plants to take up and release increased amounts of water to balance water vapour in the air. This stresses the plants considerably by taking away the energy it needs to produce new roots, shoots and leaves. But if you increase the RH levels up to 60-70% during these vital, early stages, you will ensure quicker establishment of roots, vigorous growth and compact internodes. Ultimately, your plants will grow faster and healthier.
Once the plants have grown in size and have produced more shoots and leaves, they will take up more water into their roots and lose more water vapour from their leaves. As there is more water vapour being released into the air by the plant, the humidifier can now be switched off.
If the RH in your grow room falls back below 40%, you will experience a lot of problems - one of them being over-fertilisation. High temperatures and low RH will cause your plants to take up and release more water. Whilst your plants are taking up more water, they will take up less nutrient - causing the nutrient to continually increase in strength. It is this increase in nutrient strength - coupled with an increase in water uptake and release - that causes over-fertilisation of your plants and other nutrient related problems.
The link between RH and temperature is the cause of many problems during the summer months, but despite this, it is still one of the first things that is overlooked.

Im 99% sure this is happening to me!

Save your money on the humidifier and just get some domes.

The ones I've got have a selectable vent on top too.

Yes RH causes slow growth for a little while.

I've grown in 19% RH while they were seedlings. I just reduced feeding strength and hung up some towels.
