From what I hear, alot of people like HTG supply at htgsupply.com. I would like to hear what people have to say about these kits if anybody has ordered one or knows somebody who has.

Also which upgrades would be most logically beneficial.

I noticed that too. I know I didn't answer your question but I would also like to see what people say. I've been searching the internet for grow cabs/ full grow setup. Let me know.

ADDED: Digital could show the digital info about the bulb while its running such as configuring the light intensity and such?

HTG is cheap and cheap = cheap stuff.

I recommend upgrading anything that is "core" like lights and ballasts to NOT be HTG supply. Something simple and cheap though like the tent itself, sure why not.

There is a reason why HTG is cheap, it is made from garbage materials.

Say what you will about HTG, but their ballast carries a 5 year warranty (3 full 2 prorated) and is UL listed. I've used HTG for a while now with absolutely no problems. Please don't spew your misinformation. Do you have facts to back up what "garbage materials" you are referring to?

Digital Greenhouse ballasts are now UL listed! What does this mean? This means that Digital Greenhouse ballasts are now certified for safety by Underwriter Laboratories, the worlds leading electrical product safety organization. Check the other brands. Are they listed? Probably not... Demand safety, demand Digital Greenhouse!

Digital Greenhouse ballasts now come standard with a 5 year warranty, 3 years complete, 2 years pro-rated!

HTG has good quality products with terrific customer service. I have bought the majority of my stuff from them, never had a single issue. I used to live in Augusta GA. My nearest HTG was a 5 hour round trip in Charlotte. Being the hard core kinda guy I am LOL! I made the drive, while at the same time passing a kidney stone. Well worth it. I was there 3 hours, looking at everything, comparing and contrasting. Getting some great info from the guys there. I am in FL now and the HTG store is about 4 hours away round trip. Although I have a hydro store 10 min from me, when I need new equipment, I will again make the drive. Besides have you seen their commercials on youtube? If not go check them out, heads up..The bird is the word.

Coincidently, I am wearing one of the 5 freebie T-shirts they gave me right now.

My HTG digital ballast works but there is no comparison to my lumatek. The htg get much much hotter, is very loud - fan noise, buzzing, and a metallic case clicking, while my Lumatek is cooler and completely silent. Terrible thing is that I actually paid more for my HTG than my Lumatek.

You can piece all of the material in the kit together for less expensive and with higher quality items doing it yourself.

I am not saying you are wrong Gastanker, but when did you get it? Is it still under the warranty? If so you should have it checked out because mine is as silent as can be.

Really? The fan doesn't even make noise? Mine makes a racket. If I cover a portion of the case in duct tape it will stop rattling for a a day or two until the tape falls off from the heat and the fan is loud and often clacks as well. I assumed this was fairly common as there's a sticker right on it saying that the unit will malfunction if the fan is positioned at the wrong angle - well there was a sticker, it fell off from heat as well. My warranty should be valid but can you really return it for too much noise? What about the buzz?

Yeah it sounds defective. I mean yes it does have a fan, but it is a tiny little computer fan that sounds well like a computer fan. It doesn't make a noise or buzz that I can hear at all. How long have you had the ballast? Is the one you have UL listed (have the UL sticker)?

I am reasonably sure that if the warranty is still valid, they will help you. Give them a call 866-710-GROW

It's ~2 years old and it has a UL listing. I have straight up not been using it due to the noise (grow in my room) - I picked their digital ballast just for the noise benefit and I want to say it's louder than my buddies magnetic. I hear the ballast over my 440cfm fan lol.

Yeah I would call HTG because that don't sound like it is working correctly. Only noise should be a small computer fan noise.
