HSO BLUE DREAM, has anyone grew this before?

i have a dinafem blue dream i want to test this fall or winter. it's a really popular strain in cali, so much so there's a backlash about their being a glut in dispenseries.
haze x skunk is my 3rd favorite strain... very potent and long lasting. skunk #1 and blueberry smoke very similarly, though BB tastes better for sure. i've seen one person saying blue dream is also potent and long lasting and blueberry crossed with hopefully a fruity haze should be a nice combo.
i thought attitude just gave out the very same blue dreams you're asking about with this month's newsletter. in that case, just try it yourself and then you'll know.

Cali connection was giving s1's away as freebies. I don't know about HSO but I've heard Cali connection and maybe Ken's gdp will be putting out some crosses soon.

sure... make me dig my freebie up. it's a cali connection. i must have been confusing it with critical jack. i have a bad memory for names. i'll also get to test cali con gear. i think a couple people seem to like them. i'm interested in how both strains fare against my current favorite fruity haze, sweet haze.
i plan on doing a fruit flavored grow this winter hopefully including sweet haze, sweet haze x (c99 x A11), buddha's sister, BS x malawi gold, maybe buddha's sister x G13 haze (2x old regs), blue dream, critical jack & C99 x blueberry. i think i have a sweet deep grapefruit too. i'd REALLY like a pack of grape krush. i think i'll wait until i find a better haze for that. actually i'm really liking the sound of ace's old timer's haze x thai. it's 1/2 the price of OTH
oh to have the kind of space where i could test everything i wanted including entire packs for keepers and have a dedicated mother room, even better yet, a 3rd room just for breeding. random thought for the minute

Well, I dont see a problem considering you never take them out of party cups. You can fit 40 or so in your 1x1 area and shoplight.

Cannabigen sell Ace's old strains. OT1s haze wasnt all that realy, Maybe with the Thai backcrossed in she could be better.
More branch than bud on most phenos of OT haze. Actualy they aint taking this one on.....................
Put it this way, OT1 give them away and never kept any, says himself he was not intrested.
2000's went on Dubi at Ace took on the project and if I remember right kept 3 phenos from all of them, 1 purple, 1 Lime and one LSD pheno.
The man behind that works on the ESxB and others for Ugorg. Ive grown out ESB X Holyweed f2s from another known hacker utopia or utopiat.
ES = early skunk (not early as in 7-9wk early as in 70's and 80's) B is Blueberry sativa.

if you like doing the attitude newsletter freebies thing and their 420 coupon code, they carry most of ace's strains too as well as gage green, world of seeds and cannabiogen
old timer's haze is probably even better than the thai cross, but who has $150 to pop down on a 17 week plus strain? both versions are by ace seeds. i just checked their website last night, and they apparently have some "real deal" malawi gold too that's supposed to be one of their trippiest strains. i have holy smokes' version that was at least promising in early flower and way less of a prissy IBL dive than sativa seeds' highland thai full moon. ace has a lot of IBL sativas and crosses.
buddha's sister is tart cherry flavored as is BS x G13 haze too by SOMA and is available as $20 fems. i'm planning to knock it up with my malawi, but want to take a clone to hit it up with a fruity strain too as well as BX it with the BS malawi to hopefully get a cherry male, but i might splurge on a full pack of regulars for it too. the BS x G13 haze is out of my range though at $180. i got it when it was $120 i think. hope my last 2 beans are still viable
if you too want to start a cherry haze line, i'd suggest you get ace's panama as it's extra trippy and has red hairs which is what you'd want with a cherry strain. i lean towards OTH because my main goal is a purple grape haze.
ace and gage green are two of the best sources for IBLs, though world of seeds has some too and despite nirvana's rep, their SS line full moon lives up to highland thai's rep in every way. it's fussy, takes forever to flower, and unless you start it out in a 50 gallon drum with 10k watts of halide, it can hermie on you too, BUT that tutti fruity flavor is too awesome, just like giant rainbow lollypops from childhood. SS haze skunk looked much more sativa to me than high quality seeds' version which is anything but shabby, especially for just $28. very potent and long lasting with little tolerance effect. if you like blunts, you'll love the flavor. i don't that cheesy cigar wrapper skunk flavor is not a favorite, but there's much worse like cat piss.

Yea I'd seen the OTH on attitude but had the same thought. Too much for a 17 weeker. Have you grown the Panama? ?? Its caught my eye too. And yea, reclining budah I've been waiting for. Its on my next order for sure.... only I was thinking of running emerald triangles cherry og and finding a cherry mom, then cross that to the RB.

no. the only IBLs i've done were that highland thai that pissed me off after 2 transplants AFTER a cup and several months to even sex and then turning hermie on me anyways (i think i have a couple highland thai crosses because of that) and the much more co-operative holy smokes' malawi gold. the next closest thing would be the 12.5% afghani haze skunk i grew that was crazy potent and long lasting with no tolerance dropoff after a month.
another member here loves his panama and keeps trying to push it on me, but i'm not much of a fan of the color red. i did save the red pheno masterkush auto beans from a cross i made with C99 x A11 just because i already had them and didn't want to waste the color, but i'm in no hurry to use them.
17-24 weeks sure is a long time, true, but if you want to start with an IBL that's not another watered down generic haze that isn't trippy at all, you could do much worse. really, i'm not as gung ho for IBLs as i used to be now that i've sampled a bunch of nice modern hybrids. haze skunk is more than IBL enough for me. when you mess with the purest sativas, they get less than fun when you overdo them and the room starts spinning. i got a little bit of that after my first light hit or two of HS were fun and i decided to brave a couple big hits. i'm liking mellower gear that you can chill on and that's not so racy or panicky.
jack's cleaner 2 is my current favorite and it has a stonier edge than my second fave sweet haze (9 weeks of fruity goodness with some genuine trippiness!!) or haze skunk, but it's more visual and the really fun part though is that it has a warm and fuzzy euphoria that i bet could be laugh your ass off grade that has a really cool touchy feely aspect. in fact i did have a hearty laugh when i started getting into massaging my arms and chest just for the sensation, much like the way yucky diesel onyx made me play footsie with myself, and had a good laugh when i realized i was having a genuine visual effect from imaginary invisible rainbow tie dye ripples of color emanating from wherever i touched! i had less visuals the second time i had a hit or two of acid or the time i ate a hadful and half of shrooms. the stone isn't too bad on that and everything else is pure fun.
i really liked the energy neutral buzz of 8 miles high which wasn't too different from a generic high but it had enough psychoactivity that it loves music and dancing and the precise body control part of it's buzz is as close to the really fun light floaty feeling old school columbian gave besides it's intense visuals. i'm hoping sannie's jack f7 proves to be as world class as it's rep and potentially becomes my new favorite, but really, i'm more worried about not getting stoopid and stondeded than absolute potency. the light motivational euphoric high from DNA lemon skunk is more than good enough for me, but JC2, sweet haze, haze skunk & 8 miles high are all better.
i had to cut my malawi gold down early because it, and everything else, got hot spot burned the night i forgot to turn my fan on, but it sure looked IBL and was promising right at the start of flowering. that's why it's going to be my first male in my next grow. in theory, it should be the most old school thing i've grown. it should make almost anything better. i imagine it turning sweet haze into something sour and fruity and even trippier and make buddha's sis even trippier than G13 haze, hopefully without drowning the cherry flavor out.
it'd be nice to have the space and time to test ALL of the IBL gear out there for sure. besides my current indoor faves, i just like the idea of "inventing" a purple grape haze and a cherrybomb 3.0 haze as there's already been an indica CB along with dr greengenes sativa CB. blueberry is so played out. i don't like it myself. maybe i'll like blue dream better.

yah, i tend to agree.. imho, the closest thing that anyone can get to the real deal blue dream in seed variety is from dj short.. the only difference is that dj short used an f5 for the blueberry instead of an f4 like what was used for the blue dream clone only..
and of course you'd have to take into consideration what pheno of each plant was originally used to make blue dream.. but all in all, i'd say dj's is the closest to the clone only blue dream..
i'm growing 2 blue dream clones atm.. about 2 weeks or so into flower.. can't wait to see how these are going to turn out as i'm a huge sativa fan and who can bitch about blueberry.. these things have really stretched up nicely in the past 2 weeks.. can't wait to see some buds going on..

Hi everybody, I'm new to this site, but I'm an old grower. I don't know if this was already mentioned, but Blue Dream is the most common strain in Cali. It's clone only, so the seeds would all be crosses. I've grown it before, and even though it's really common, a lot of people I know prefer it. I'd avoid seeds from the internet for this strain, and track down a dispensary that has the clones.

if someone gets a good cutting and back crosses to it a couple times with a blue haze, they should be able to get really close to the clone.
