I need some help/advice. I currently have a 4x2 tent that is 5 feet high. Not the biggest. But I have a 600w HPS in there. BEAMING.
I have a tube running in from outside the tent -> into HPS fixture -> out of tent -> being pulled by a 400cfm fan. The filter is not on that ducting, so the airflow is very powerful.
I then have a 200cfm fan hooked up to a DIY carbon filter pulling air out of the tent. This makes a more gentle, but still relatively powerful, airflow since the filter slows it down obviously.
Tent intake is just passive. Im afraid if I make it an active intake I would get neg air pressure.
Both fans are WindTunnels.
Somehow my temps are sitting at 90 degrees 10 inches away from the glass on the light. What in the world? My room temp is 70-73. I just dont know why, or how this is happening. Is it normal to have that high of temps when everything is ventilated? Is it that hott simply because it is so close? Do I just need a taller tent?
I also of course have an oscillating fan inside the tent.
Any ideas?
My current plans of action are:
A. Switch the fans so the 400cfm is sucking through the filter in hopes that it would then create more airflow coming in through the passive intake.
B. Taking temp under canopy just to see what the differential is (I will know in about an hour when they wake up).
C. Scrap the tent. Plastic the walls of the 9x9 room the tent is in. Hang light from ceiling. Im REALLY worried about the bugs that might end up in there though. Spider, centipedes etc. Its a finished basement, but of an old house.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
