Hps or mh

I have a 5x5 grow tent with a 4x4 ebb and flow tray with two Lumateks dial-a-watt 600.
I was wondering should i use one generic 400 watt MH or the two EYE Hortilux full spectrum HPS dialed down to 360 or 400 watts each.

Personally I would use a 6500k metal halide for the Veg then move to a good HPS bulb for flowering.

Have you considered using one or two 600 watt MH conversion bulbs? I know Ushio makes one, and that ought to serve you waay better than a generic 400. Jmo.

DrFever...

MH to veg, HPS to flower first 5-6 weeks and finish off with MH?
Sound slike he has 1 fixture, unless you are recommending and dual MH/HPS bulb.

If you're only going for 1 and not both get the HPS because its for the most important part, flowering. But you should get both.

ok I didn't actually ask the complete question.
That qustion was for vegging, and those are the only bulbs i have to work with right now.

dude...go with the 2 eyes...i have heard great things about them

you want full spectrum throughout the grow.

i thought you had 2 ballests lol yea well use mh for veg then switch it out to hps for flower my thought tho

if you have hps bulbs with added blue spectrum go with them for sure. (edit, just did some research and looked up the bulbs. They are high output with added blue like i suspected.) ive tried mh, cmh, normal hps, and high output hps and the ho hps works best for both vegging and flowering imo and in my experiences.

here are the spectrum's on the digilux 600 watt.

The HPS is very legit with 95,000 lumens.
The MH has the spectrum to go start to finish. It has 75,000 lumens

I use the MH for veg and the first 2 weeks of flowering. Then I like to switch to the HPS.
