HPS or MH Light necessary?

I have al ow budget. Hopefully not for long- but Im not sure about being able to get a HPS and a fixture for it (or the MH). I went to Home Depot. It was pretty expensive. And Im not sure I can fit the equivalent of a parking lot light hood in my room or something.

Is there a compact fixture I can use for a HPS/MH? Or am I pretty SOL and I should stick to the best I have being my warm and cool CFLs and reflectors?

you can get a 400watt hps brand new from a hydro store less then 200$

be patient, save a little money, and buy the damn light, u will thank yourself when smokin!
 
CFL= 1.25oz/dry=250.00 at a cost of about 7.00 a month 21.00 total for ele
250.00-21.00=229.00 profit
HPS= 2.25/dry=450.00 at a cost of about 75.00 a month 225.00 total for ele.
450.00-225.00=225.00 profit

no im looking at about 68.00 difference per month. from the 1000w coil and core HPS ballast to the 6 13w CFLs

im sure this is what you were getting at though

pretty much if youve got good CFLs already then use them for vegging and think about whether you really want/need the HPS while theyre growin.
the CFLs in that thread were only 13w ea and the wrong color for budding but they still grew alright.
