Hps OK for seedlings?

i was wondering if i should use my 400w hps to veg my seedlings or if i should just keep cfls on em any input is awesome thanks

you can place them under the 400 because it's not that powerful...but keep them a good distance from the babies....i have put seedings under 1000 watts before....but if they have not sprouted out of the dirt yet it's best to keep them in the dark till they break soil...

and if you do put them under hid lighting 18/6 is best...they like to rest a little and they will show there gratitude for it.

I usually use floros for seedlings and young clones for awhile before throwing them under the MH, but I have had success with a 600 mh from a distance, I have had better results with the floros for early growth.

I for one , like to use fluoros for the first 10-14 days. Easier on the plants, and less electricity also.
