i got a 400w HPS bulb. but what do i plug it into? its big and wierd. will it work in a regular socket that a standard incodesent and cfl fit in?

dont want to get hurt and want to be safe.

if i can basically "plug and play" that would be good. i then can swap my cfl and screw in the HPS.

give me some info on this please..

you need an hps ballast, an hps bulb requires an ignitor to fire and a capacitor to regulate current flow...and of course the transformer to step up the voltage....

alot of people on this site flower with cfls and get good results.

you should find one of their grow journals to use as a reference.
im sure theyd be happy to share their experiences and help you out.

if after the new year you get a new hid, then you have plenty of cfls for side lighting.

good growing
