hi guys this is my first post so go easy on me :) . Right i have 5 x 400w hps ( 4x in flowering over 20 plants & 1 in my clone n mother room) lights at the moment and im going to change these too 15 cfl, these ones :-
[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Arial]Introducing the 105 Watt FULL SPECTRUM Daylight CFL. This amazing lamp is an alternative to the Expensive Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium Lamps. The FE-IIIB-105W/50 is a 400 Watt replacement that operates at only 105 watt.
this is simmply because of £££ on electricity and effectivly i can get 19 of these lights for the same energy cost of my 5 hps !. which means a massive 7619watts of light instead of 2000watts. surely this will produce better yeilds (using more plants too ) also theres the factor that these bulbs dont get as hot as hps and less risk of fire (with heat anyway). Is this logical or can someone put a spanner in my dream of thinking... not sure if i can post links on here but it is a auction site to where im buying these lights from.
Cheers boyz n girlz

cfls are good for veg and you can flower. I think for the last couple of weeks i would do both. The cfls around bottom and side and the hps on top. Then fasen your seat belt and get the bong ready:blsmoke:

but that would use to much electricity hence the cfl's but would it really make tht much difference in the last two weeks ?

Ive read that hps is more efficient than cfls in total lumens per watt.. what is the amount of lumens on the 105 watt bulb and the 400 watt hps? I think that you wont save much by goin all cfls.. because to get the amount of lumens u currently have, you might even have to run more clf wattage than hps wattage..
they are better for smaller grows, the light isnt as intense as hps or mh

I still say I havnt seen any evidence that the plants care and the best argument seems to be HPS intensity being higher. Which I know can be recreated in CFL. CFL technology is further along than anyone gives it credit for.

dude if you're going to get 105watt CFL that puts out the same as a 400watt HPS fucking get 19 that means you can grow 60 plants or more, unless your getting me excited for somthing that isent that true, i have a gut feeling using a 4xHPS and 1xMH is alot better.... thats good for now but i think you should put them ALL on Motorized tracks, and grow double to triple or even quadroopl the amount plants....thats all you need, put the mh on a track also, so you can have more mothers.

this will give you the chance to use the same amount of lights, but grow 40% more plants, because the lights are moving the whole plant will get light too, for bigger better plants you wont regret buyin a motorized track :)

im not sure about the tracks man, surely there only getting light part of the time (when the tracks go over & the other part less light when the tracks are away) surely how can this be better than continous light right above ?

ive recieved my lights 3x warmwhite x 105w = 500w @ $40 a go thats real gd. What im goin to do is put 8 plants under cfl and 8 under hps an see wat the out come is.
thanks for all your help guys
