HPS 1000watt or 2 600watts....please advise....

So i am converting form two tents to just a big 8x8 room....i cant get too crazy with heat bc i have no ac but good ventilation...

what is the heat difference for 1 1000watt vs 2 600watts? might even consider a 600 and a 400...

*all are 6inch vented hoods. if i do 2 600's i will have one pulling air through the two.

2 600w will give you better light coverage. Also your room is big enough that heat will not be that hard to keep in check.

do you think 2 600 is more heat than one 1000? i know its more watts but that doesn't necessarily mean its more heat...or does it lol

Yes. In that case, it does.

Another thing to keep in mind is that any number of 600w lamps won't penetrate as far from the bulbs as any one 1000w would.

maybe this chart will help, we currently run 2x 600w in a 5x5 Secret Jardin with a 350 CFM fan cooling our hoods with no heat problems.

yea i am thinking i want to do 2 600's if i got that much room, i feel like the more coverage will outweigh the penetration when it comes to yield and i can probably do a few more plants? what would you guys do?

if you look at the chart, both 600, and 1000, put out the same # of lux at a safe distance from the bulb.
i would go for 2x 600w air cooled. im jelous of your 8x8 room
