How goes it all? thought i would throw some pics up of my closet beauty. Me and my buddy have been growing her for about 3 months now. the first month and a half of her life, she lived in his basement closet from seed. (pics will show it was in a basement) his closet wasnt to stealthy, so we figured it was time to put her into my closet. sinse then shes been looking great. we've been going with 20-4 lighting for veg. its been workin good so far, but is that cool? also we've been using superthrive as well with a home made medium of organic soil with manure, top soil, and MG. idk if thats okay but its been workin pretty good! but as i said, she was in a basement closet for awhile, which what we found out, had a bug problem. so alot of her leaves were chewed up:cry: (pics will show) but ever sinse moving in with me we've had no problems at all:mrgreen: but youll see that the bottomest leaves arent making any progress at a come back so i was wondering if they're necessary? i mean, i heard stripping dying leaves will help it grow more so...anyone know? shes about 28in high, and from the looks of it id say its a sativa. but, if anyone more experienced knows for sure, feel free to lemme know haha youll see that she is a very straight plant so ive been thinking about pinching her or something for some more branches to grow. anyone know any good techniques for more growth? lemme know what you think!

Well....it's not the worst plant ever...lol, however for 3 months old your plant should be ALOT bigger and fuller. It looks very stretched which means not enough lighting, and not the proper nutes.

The top looks happy and healthy though.

Kinda skimpy. I think many are ready to harvest @3 months . . . I just did. Need more light in beginning to excel early growth. I do 24/0. Yeah, you could cut those bottom branches out if you want, bottom 1/3rd of entire plant.

yea when my buddy had it at his house, i would tell him thats it was looking stretched..but did he listen to me? nah...but i have it set up under 2 4ft CFLs. Not sure of the wattage come to think of it, so ill have to check it, but its pretty bright in the closet. ever sinse its been in my closet, ive seen nothing but good progress so i think im doin alright for a novice lol but i agree it should definetly be more fuller looking, hense why i ask if theres anything i can do to make it fuller? topping? pinching? tying? anything you guys would suggest with some directions for a novice?

Two 4' CFL's?
I didn't know such a thing existed. Keep your plant as close to the light as possible, w/o touching it.
You might look into LST in the FAQ's . . . LowStressTraining . . . or topping it will promote side growth and thus, bushiness.

so the grow faq will give me some direction toward topping and lst? i jus tied the bottom a few hours ago actually lol im desperate for some more limbs so im open to any suggestions for more growth of course. i measured the CFLs and it came out to 4 ft? i have the top of the plant about 6in away from the light and it hasnt been burning any leaves.

You could tie the entire plant down to one side or another, then move your light down, or plants up . . . branches will then grow out and up towards the light.
I still don't know about 4" CFL's . . . they're not just regular fluro tubes? I mean, I use 4' tubes myself, but they're not CompactFluerescentLights. 40W Cool White?
IMO, you need to get that light a lot closer. Some of mine touch the tubes and they don't burn. Only the very end of the tubes get warm enough to do any damage.

yea then im probab;y using what you are then haha my bad on that. im still a newb pickin stuff up on here lol im trying to think of i neat way to tie hr down jus so i can get some more branches as of now. i checked out my top leaves and they are turning slightly yellow just on the tips. from what i heard, i heard that this means too much light, so i moved my light up alittle bit. im also going to be topping it soon as well. hopefully this goes well. by tying her down, will i bend my stem too much or will it just pop back up after? i just dont wana hurt my plant you know? again, just a newb bein nervous lol

You wouldn't want to bend her over 90 degrees that would be bad. You do however want to bend her, over time, every few days i would tie her down just a little bit more each time so her stem gets used to being in that position, and it doesn' snap on you.

well i was feeling the stem today, and was giving it alittle bend to see how it would do, and it seems to be alright. how much should i bend her? does anyone have any pics of their plant tied down so i can see some good techniques? if that sounds dumb, forgive me, im still pickin this stuff up lol i was thinking about topping it too. would this help with growth as well even if shes tied down? also, (just on a side note) how much do you think the plant would yeild right now? im just curious, because i still dont understand how to calculate that lol
